Fruity Summer

Hi friends, I'm back today, sharing a more season appropriate card. I love fresh fruit in the summer time, so the sweet ephemera and papers in the July Box of the Month from Not 2 Shabby were calling my name.

This card features the Tutti Frutti paper pad and Tutti Frutti ephemera from the box. While the subscription box is currently sold out, you can still purchase the papers and ephemera for your crafty endeavors.

I pulled in an orange gingham from the Summer Gingham paper pad as a little backdrop for my collage of ephemera. I felt it pulled the orange in the striped paper a bit more.  I added a few Copic and gold glitter pen accents to the ephemera, coloring her hair bow and top red with polka dots instead of pink to match the watermelon. The hello summer sentiment is from one of the stamp sets in this month's  box.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative day!

Paradise

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in to share a little Jaded Blossom inspiration with you. Since our community pool opened over the weekend and the final week of school for the boys is here, I had summer on my mind when I sat down to create.

I made a splishy splashy kind of background, then used the Fish Stencil with a light layer of mint hydrangea paper glaze for some fun shimmer. Next I set the panel aside to dry and pulled out the Large Palm Tree Die and some brown, kraft, and green cardstocks.  I added some shading with Copic markers, then assembled.

Next I pulled out some distress sprays and sprayed a panel of watercolor cardstock with various brown shades.  I made one half of the paper lighter than the other, then cut the starfish with the Gnome Dies: Beach Add Ons from the lighter side.  I used the balloon border die from Border Dies 2 as my hill, hand trimming the balloon tie off.

Once things were dry, I added some splatters to the fish background, then glued on the hill and ran the panel through the die cut machine with the Card Mat Dies. I then layered everything together and added a sentiment from the Tropical Vibes set die cut with the coordinating outline dies.

Meet Meow at the Tiki Bar

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in to share a little Jaded Blossom inspiration with you. Our family is pretty excited to be adopting a kitten this afternoon, and in his honor I have prepared a cat card, tiki style.

This little kitty is from the adorable Mew Did It set and I colored him with alcohol markers then cut with the coordinating die.  The tiki bar is built with the Build a Booth Die, and Build a Booth Die: Tiki Add Ons. I used both the hibiscus and leaf banners cut from colored cardstock.  The tiki torch is from the Gnome Dies: Tiki Add Onsadding a bit of shading with alochol markers.

The pina colada is from the Tiki Hut Dies. I used some a white paint pen to give that creamy colada look, then created a teeny pineapple wedge from a circle die cut to accent the cup.

The sentiment is from the Pineapples for Sale set. I love how the sentiments all fit the die from the orgiinal Build a Booth Die.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a super creative day.

July 2023 Jaded Blossom Mini Release and Celebration

Hey Everyone! It's time for the July 2023 Celebration Sale & Mini Release!  For those eager to shop the sale and release, click HERE

Jaded Blossom is releasing a bunch of fun new items on Friday!

Here is what I created using the new items...

When Mark and I traveled to Maui several years ago, we visited a different place for coffee each day. So I knew when I saw this release that I would need to make a coffee card!  I started this one with the Girl Gnome Dies, dressing her up with a hat and the grass dress from the new Gnome Dies: Tiki Add Ons. To add a little depth to her hat, I coated the bottom layer of the pineapple hat with some crackle texture paste, then layered the crisscross piece over it.  Once it was dry, I then added some stickles accent to each cross piece.  Love how it turned out.

Next I reached for the gorgeous new Hibiscus Stencil. I stenciled on white cardstock with pinks and yellows for my first print, then added a little water to the left over ink on the stencil and did a clean up print on another piece of white cardstock.  I used the first stenciled background to die cut the surfboard from the Gnome Dies: Beach Add Ons.  I then cut one of the stenciled hibiscus from the leftover piece to add to her hat for a little accent.

I used the clean up print for the background, smooshing with the same colors of inks until I had a background I was happy with.  I die cut the Aloha Die (freebie with a qualifying order this weekend) and the coffee cup from the original Gnome Dies from the leftovers. Next I hand cut a layer of light blue and two layers of kraft cardstock for a sandy beach, using some speckled egg distress oxide on the mioddle layer and frayed burlap on the bottom layer. I added the surfboard sticking in the sad between the two layers, then finished off with my Hawaiian girl and the die cut word.

For my second card, I made another Girl Gnome, decking her out with the Gnome Dies: Tiki Add Ons set.  The sentiment is from the Tropical Vibes stamp set. I cut it out with a Stitched Circle Die, then crowned it with the die cut for the pineapple crown.  A little fringe and some washi tape give a little space to ground my gnomie, and I finished off with a few holeless sequins for accent.

July 2023 Jaded Blossom Sale and Mini Release Sneak Peek

Hey crafty friends!
It's almost time for the July 2023 Celebration Sale & Mini Release!

Jaded Blossom is releasing a bunch of fun new items on Friday! That's just one more sleep!

Here is what I created using the fabulous new goodies. This is one of my favorite releases ever. So fun! My gnomie is working the tiki bar today, with the most fabulous pina coladas on offer. Many years ago I went on a Caribbean cruise and it spoiled me for Idaho pina coladas. I seriously have never tasted another pina colada that could compare!

I went with a tropical color palette for my card, creating a tiki bar with the new Build a Booth: Tiki Bar Add Ons and adding one of the Gnome Dies behind the counter.  That pineapple banner really makes me smile. I added a little gold stickles to each of the cross pieces on the pineapples for a poky look. The hibiscus flowers have stolen my heart and I used them to decorate the bar. The pina colada is from the new Gnome Dies: Tiki Add Ons.

I added a subtle texture to the background with freebie Mermaid Stencil from the Mini Beach Release. It's not in the shop right now, but the freebies often come back in a few month or so.

Don't forget we also have our July Celebration Sale starting on Friday!
You don't want to miss this, Michelle and Candace are so generous with their sales! Stock your carts now with your favorite items because things tend to sell out quickly during their sales.

Life Lemons and Tea

Hi friends! I'm popping in today to share a little Jaded Blossom inspiration with you! This one pairs a few old favorites with goodies from the June 1st release.

Did you get the gorgeous Lemon Stencil earlier this month? I love it so much! I used Limoncello and Chiffon inks for the lemon layers, then grass skirt for the leaves. Once I was done inking the layers I lined up the lemon stencil once more and went over it with translucent texture paste for some cool texture.

I pulled out the Cup of Tea set and decided to mask off the images on the tag and use the die cuts from the Build a Booth: BBQ Add Ons. I embossed the sentiment in black on vellum, then cut with the Luggage Tag, layering two pieces of vellum to give the tag some substance,

Next I pulled out the gorgeous Floral Coffee Art set (I'm pretending it's a cup of tea for the purposes of this card) and got to work coloring with Copic markers.  I then cut it out with the Floral Coffee Outline Dies and popped up on foam tape for added dimension. I finished off with a little seam binding bow at the top of the tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderfully creative week!

Jaded Blossom Mini Beach Release

Hi friends! It's a super exciting day as there's a fabulous new mini release in the Jaded Blossom shop today! Our adorable little gnomes are headed to the beach for some fun in the sun!

When I was a girl one of my favorite shows to watch was Gidget. They re-aired the series on Saturday mornings and I just knew I was going to live by the ocean when I grew up. Well, it hasn't happened yet, but I do vacation there whenever I get the chance! Living in a desert area in a land locked state, I've never been surfing, but I couldn't resist making my version of Gidget, complete with a surfboard using the brand new Gnome Dies: Beach Add Ons.  Isn't that surfboard fabulous? I dressed it up with some random stamping using the small Hibiscus flower from the Hibiscus set. I also used the same stamp on her sun dress. I used the little piece that makes the bite marks in food to create a little neckline to turn her dress into a sundress, then used the Gnome Dies: Leg Add Ons for her legs and feat.  I gave her a mint chocolate chip cone, then added the the sentiment from the new Ahoy Gnomie set at her feet.

The background is the gorgeous new Shells Stencil. I inked it up on kraft cardstock using salvaged patina distress oxide then went over the stencil again with translucent texture paste. It's super shiny and fun in real life, but was a bit camera shy.

For my next card, my girl is decked out with a flamingo floatie and flip flops, courtesy of the new Gnome Dies: Beach Add Ons.  Her sun hat is from the Gnome Dies: Spring Add Ons and I accented with a stamp from the Hibiscus set. I created a little scene for her by masking off the bottom portion, then blending some blue inks, splattering with water for some spray. I then stippled a little white paint along the shore line.  I then reversed the mask and used a brown ink for the sand, stippling with a darker brown ink for some texture.  I assembled the gorgeous new Palm Tree Die to finish off the scene, then added a sentiment from Ahoy Gnomie, cut with the outline dies, then hand cut to separate to fit in the space I had left over.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Here's the scoop on the new release...

Donut Worry

Hi friends! Hope you're having an awesome week so far. It's less than a week until I have shoulder surgery, so I'm needing all the donut worry vibes! Trying to keep calm and not dwell on the unknowns of recovery. I did have a blast making this card featuring the new Donut Worry Stamp Set and Summer Donuts Paper Pad from Not 2 Shabby.

I colored up the sweet panda donut from Donut Worry, then fussy cut. The papers are from the Summer Donuts paper in the June Paper Pad Club. I matted with dragonfruit cardstock, then picked some ephemera from the Poolside Ephemera pack to make a little backdrop for my panda.  I cut a teeny flower from the paper to add in front of here ear, then added sentiments from the Stamp of the Month and a few sparkle enamel dots from the Let's Get Cool Collection to finish things off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day.

Jaded Blossom June Sneaky Peek Day 3

Hi friends! It's sneaky peek week at Jaded Blossom, leading up to their June release tomorrow! Woot Woot! There's a fabulous collection of new goodies releasing, and today we're sharing our makes with the new Window Card Mat Die and the Checkered Stencil Freebie.

I love playing with the series of Card Mat Dies and was so excited to see this new Window Card Mat Die. Here I cut the die from red cardstock for the frame.  I then cut small sections of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Bar-B-Cute pad and taped them to the Window Card Mat Die to send them through the die cut machine.

I then pulled out the hamburger, hot dog, ketchup bottle, and burger flipper from the Gnome Dies: BBQ Add Ons and colored them with Copic markers. For the sun, I used dies from the Gnome Dies: Weather Add Ons cut from paper inked with Catherine Pooler Chiffon ink.  I finished off with another great sentiment from the Grilling with My Gnomies stamp set and cut with the coordinating dies

Jaded Blossom June Sneaky Peek Day 2

Hi friends! It's sneaky peek week at Jaded Blossom, leading up to their June release on Thursday! Woot Woot! There's a fabulous collection of new goodies releasing, and today we're sharing our makes with Build a Booth: BBQ Add Ons, Lemonade for Sale, and the gorgeous Lemon Stencil.

I lived way too far off the beaten path growing up to have a lemonade stand growing up, but I do have very fond memories of playing a VERY old school Lemonade Stand DOS based computer game in my gifted & talented classroom. It was about calculating profit and loss, anticipating demand, and correcting for inventory overages with marketing and sales. So a pretty geeky game, but I was the highest profit maker in the class and it was super novel to get to use a computer in those days.

Okay, I'll stop babbling about years gone by and get to the card.  I used the base Build a Booth die set to create the booth, using a wood grain patterned paper for the base pieces.  I used wintermint, lemmoncello, and chiffon Catherine Pooler inks to color my white cardstock pieces from the Gnome Dies: BBQ Add Ons (pitcher and glass), and the Build a Booth: BBQ Add-Ons, then assembled everything.  I colored the checkered cloth and cut to fit my design. Once everything was assembled I accented the sign with a few more lemon wedge pieces, then finished with a sentiment from the Grilling with My Gnomies stamp set, and cut with the coordinating dies.

If you look closely you might just spy an extra sneaky peek of a product coming later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day! Be sure to check out what my other teamies are sharing today, and come back tomorrow for another product reveal. If you want to skip the wait, the Gotta Have it Now package is available now, and Candace is a super speedy shipper!

Jaded Blossom June Sneaky Peek Day 1

Hi friends! It's sneaky peek week at Jaded Blossom, leading up to their June release on Thursday! Woot Woot! There's a fabulous collection of new goodies releasing, and today we're sharing our makes with the Gnome Dies: BBQ Add Ons, Grilling with My Gnomies, and Grilling with My Gnomies Outline Dies..

I'm starting off the week with this sweet watermelon loving gnome. I absolutely love watermelon and fun fact it's the only food craving I hadd when I was pregnant with the boys. Trying to find good watermelon in the winter was super hard!  LOL  Anyhow, isn't his watermelon hat from the Gnome Dies; BBQ Add Ons the cutest? I love how there are different section for the rind. And that bottom brim can also be used with the original Gnome Dies to give a different color brim to the gnome hat.

I die cut everything from white paper, then colored up the gnome die body parts and watermelon pieces with Copic markers and then assembled. There's a small rectangle with a scallop top die in the set that had me guessing, but I figured it worked great to take some gnome sized bites out of the watermelon! I'm a bit challenged when it comes to figuring out where all the die parts go, so I'm excited to watch Lee Ann's assembly video to see what she does with it!

The sentiment is from the new Grilling with My Gnomies stamp set and cut with the coordinating Grilling with My Gnomies Outline Dies.  I added this onto some  Watermelon Summer paper cut with the Rectangles 1 dies,  then matted with the Scallop Rectangles 1 Dies.  I finished off with some stickles on the watermelon seeds, then added some sequins around the sentiment for a little shine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day! Be sure to check out what my other teamies are sharing today, and come back tomorrow for another product reveal. If you want to skip the wait, the Gotta Have it Now package is available now, and Candace is a super speedy shipper!

Aloha Shaker

Hi friends! I'm back with another card featuring Poolside goodies from Not 2 Shabby. I just can't get enough of this fun collection!  For today's card I wanted to create a little shaker to showcase one of the beautiful flower ephemeras in the Poolside Ephemera pack.

I added the ephemera on dimensional foam tape to a white cardstock tag. I then stamped the aloha sentiment from the Tropical Leaves set and cut with coordinating dies to add coming off one edge of the ephemera.  The shaker front is cut using the same tag die from a piece I had stenciled inn pinks and blues with the Tropical Leaf Stencil. I then used a die to cut a rectangle out of the center to create the shaker window. The scallop topper of the tag die set was cut from a beautiful print in the Poolside Paper Collection.  Once my shaker was assembled, I added it to another print from the Poolside paper, adding a thin blue mat and a ribbon behind.

I finished off with a palm leaf from the Tropical Leaves set, colored with Copics and then cut with the coordinating Tropical Leaves Die Set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic day!
