✂️ One Session, Four Cards: The Gnome Love Card Kit

Using the sweet little Gnome Love Card Kit along with my EZ Wonder Die #1 and its add-ons, I was able to whip up four complete cards in just one crafty session!

💙 Card Spotlight: Blue Gnome Smiles

For this first card, I paired a solid blue print with one of the half-sheet patterns. Here is a quick breakdown of how it came together:

• The Image: I cut the gnome image using the dies from the Ultimate Snowglobe Shaker Die.

• The Sentiment: I used the Ultimate Sentiments Die for the cut and then inked it with Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink to make it pop.

• The Details: I matted the sentiment with a frame from the same set and added die-cut hearts and two banner ends from the EZ Wonder Die #1.

• The Sparkle: To finish, I added some rhinestone hearts and a tiny bit of Stickles to the gnome for that perfect touch of shimmer.

💌 Card 2: The Perfect Pair

For my second card, I focused on this sweet little gnome couple. I framed them using the EZ Wonder Die #1 and its add-ons to create a clean, layered look.

• The Layout: I added a panel at the bottom featuring a coordinating heart print to ground the image.

• The Sentiment: I used the kit's sentiment, cut and matted with the Ultimate Sentiments Die.

• The Finish: You know I love my sparkle! I added just a hint of Stickles to give the couple a little extra magic.

🏁 Card 3: Plaid, Hearts, & Dimension

The third card makes great use of the pieces cut from the EZ Guide. That plaid print is definitely a favorite of mine!

• Edging for Contrast: To create a clear distinction between the light blue heart print and the white card base, I inked the edges with Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink.

• Handmade Details: I hand-cut a heart from one of the patterned prints and coated it with Glossy Accents and Rock Candy glitter for a thick, sugary shine.

• Embellishments: I finished the look with more Stickles and a few Sparkle Enamel Dots for extra texture.

❤️ Card 4: Gnome One Compares

The final card used up the rest of my EZ Guide cuts—nothing goes to waste!

• Background Interest: I ran some white cardstock through my die machine with a heart embossing folder to give the backdrop plenty of texture.

• Angles & Shapes: I tilted the plaid square on an angle for a more dynamic feel, trimming off the excess. I then layered my fussy-cut gnome over a simple scalloped edge framed circle.

• The Final Touches: I added banner ends to the corners and used the punny "Gnome one compares to you" sentiment. For the sparkle factor, I applied White Liquid Pearls to the scalloped circles and, of course, a bit more Stickles on the gnome.

Magical Wizard Gnomies

Popping in with some brand new goodies from Not 2 Shabby! ✨ Meg Breiter has done it again with a new gnome set called Magical Wizards. I'm pretty sure we all know which famous magical scholar in training inspired this gnome! 😉 I colored this little lady with Copics and then cut her out with the clever Gnome Universal Die.

Also, Linh Van and Jamie have a new EZ Postage Magic & Fantasy paper pad! These pads are made to work with the EZ Wonder 3 Die, but they've got a surprise on the back – a full-size background paper if you're not feeling the EZ Wonder vibes! I used one of the purple backgrounds here, embossed it with one of my old-school stars & swirls folders, and then sanded it a bit to make it pop! I paired it with a paper from the Witchy Vibes pad and finished with some sparkly silver foil mats!

If you're loving this set as much as I am,  I'll just let you know that Meg's last gnome set sold out the first day, so these little Magical Wizards probably won't last long.

Watermelon Gnomes and a Giveaway Hop

Hi friends! It's time for another Not 2 Shabby Monthly Giveaway Hop over on YouTube! This month we're sharing sweet watermelon and beachy vibe themed projects with this month's subscription products. I have a video card share of today's cards featuring the Paper Pad club and Stamp of the Month. All of my cards today use the cut aparts from the Summer Slice paper pad in the Paper Pad Club. I just love these little watermelon gnomes. Fun fact: the only thing I craved when I was pregnant with the twins was watermelon. It wasn't a fave before that, and ever since I've totally loved it! 

This layout was adapted from an exclusive Sheetload of Cards sketch from Crafty Al's workshop during our Not 2 Shabby Cottage Rose Retreat. You can still watch the workshop here. I adapted the card to an A2 size from mini slimline, adding thin mats to each of my stripes of paper. The background comes from the Colorful Linens paper pad. I embossed the sentiment from the Sweet Slice stamp set onto a banner from EZ Wonder Die #1, then finished off with some butterfly stickers from the Sweet Summer Cottage PET Tape. The tape coordinates beautifully with the Paper Pad Club and add on ephemera this month!

My next two cards use a two for one layout. I cut two different sheets of paper down to 3.75" x 5". Then I cut from 2.75" down the long side to the right top corner. I then cut the remaining panel 2.25" down from the top corner to the bottom corner, which gave me 2 triangles and one diagonal middle strip. I swapped the patterned paper for the middle strip, and voila... two cards ready to assemble. For this card I added another panel of paper  and a Doodlebug doily to give a little grounding for my gnome. The sentiment is from the stamp of the month and I colored it with Copic markers and cut with my Scan 'n Cut. I finished off with some peel off stickers to jazz up the layers and then finished with more of the coordinating PET stickers.

For my final card I added a bit of vellum behind my focal piece so it would stand out a bit more, then added a few doily die cuts and a sentiment from the stamp set. I finished off with some Minty Bliss sparkle enamel dots.

Sweet Watermelons and June Mood Board Challenge

Hi friends! Is June keeping you as busy as it's keeping me? Summer with the boys means lots of tennis, so my craft room is getting only sneaky visits! Good thing the new June Paper Pad Club from Not 2 Shabby is SO amazing – it's all about watermelons and adorable gnomes!

For this card, I started with that seriously delicious watercolor watermelon background. Next I grabbed a print with a bit more white space for contrast and sliced it into 1" x 3" strips. A quick mat with green cardstock, and then onto a vellum rectangle which helps soften that busy background beautifully.

The charming gnome featured on this card is from the Summer Slice paper pad. Please note that for the initial month, the paper pads within the club are offered as a coordinated pair; however starting the next month they will be available for individual purchase. The sentiment is from the EZ Wonder #2 Add On and I die cut it onto a banner from the EZ Wonder Die #1 to finish things off.

A Sweet Hello

Hello friends! It's Thursday again and so I'm hopping with my This or That friends over on Instagram. Our theme choice this week is SWEET or SAVORY. When I saw the prompt, my mind immediately went to this sweet gnome in the Tea Loving Gnomes Bundle! Isn't he so cute?

I colored him up with Copic markers and a few gel pen highlights. I took some scraps of paper I had and created the layout. Aren't those plaids and dots so fun together? The darling sentiment is stamped onto a die cut from the Emily's Alphabet Die Set. I just love this shape. I accented with one of the sweet butterfly stickers from the Pink Blossom Easter PET Tape. The colors look like they were made to go with this paper collection.

Sip Relax Enjoy

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a sweet little card I made with the Tea Loving Gnomes bundle from Not 2 Shabby! I just love this bundle. 

I pulled out the EZ wonder Die #1 and Add On Dies for the layout of the card and got busy crafting. This little gnome with his nose in a book is just too cute for words. I love him and wanted him to take center stage. I layered EZ die cuts of the fabulous paper pad in the bundle to create the background, then stamped the sentiment on a tiny circle and accented with a butterfly sticker from the Pink Blossom Easter PET Tape.

There's also BIG NEWS releasing today regarding the upcoming release of  EZ Wonder Die #3! I'm part of an instagram hop today celebrating the news and there's a 🎁 GIVEAWAY🎁 !!!

Are you an iced tea drinker? We had iced tea all the time growing up, but I never got in the habit of making it once I moved out. I think I'll try to make it a bit more this summer because sitting out on my back porch with a glass of iced tea sounds positively amazing! Especially when I see this ADORABLE little gnome from the Tea Lovin' Gnomes Ephemera! Isn't he just the sweetest? And I love the sentiment from the stamp set. I used sahara sand for the mats to bring a little contrast between all the prints of paper. I just love this color combo.  For a little accent, I brought in some butterfly stickers from the Pink Blossom Easter PET Tape. I love it when you can mix and match existing products with new ones!

Honey Dripping Fun

Hi crafty friends! Today I'm popping in with a little inspiration with this month's Not 2 Shabby Box of the Month. I absolutely love these darling gnomes in the Spring Gnomes Ephemera, so pulled out the What's Buzzing paper pad and got busy in my craft room.

I started out with the honeycomb patterned paper, fussy cutting the edges of my panel. A bit of work, but I liked the finished effect. Next I coated the panel with some collage medium so I could add on some other mediums.  I wanted the effect of honey dripping from the top, so used a combination of distress crayons, watercolor pencils, dye inks, and sprays to create a sticky, drippy concoction. Most of my favorite drips got covered up with the hexagon panel, but I still love the finished look.

I added a little Copic marker highlighting to the ephemera image. Don't you just love that bee balloon? I added a couple of bees flitting around, then stamped the sentiment onto a die cut from the EZ Wonder Die #1. I then lightly stamped the small solid hexagons stamp randomly around the sentiment banner and outlined with a black pencil. Such a super sweet card, and so fun to put together!

Something NEW from Not 2 Shabby

Hi friends! It's the first of the month, and I'm delighted to share some exciting news. Not 2 Shabby is launching a new product line today – PET Tape! These are rolls of clear, oil painting-like stickers, pre-cut for easy application to your papercrafting projects. For those unfamiliar with the acronym, PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate, essentially a polyester tape.

Today, I'll be showcasing cards using two of these new designs. To see the full range of creative possibilities, I encourage you to join our Instagram hop. I've had the pleasure of peeking at the other designers' projects, and I can assure you, it's truly inspiring.

Now, I'll admit, I've always had a fondness for stickers. As a child, I maintained an extensive sticker collection, with a particular affinity for scratch-and-sniff stickers. While stickers have been a staple in scrapbooking, I'll admit in the past I've found it challenging to integrate them seamlessly into card making. Often, the white border and the overall sticker aesthetic didn't quite align with my desired look.  So I was particularly excited to discover that these new PET tapes are clear, eliminating the border issue and offering vibrant, dimensional colors. They do not disappoint!

I've been on a brief hiatus from gnome-themed projects as I was experiencing a little gnome burn-out, but the Lemon Gnomes roll proved irresistible to me! So cute. The delightful gnomes paired beautifully with the Lemons and Lavender paper, leading to the design of this fun window card.

I selected three gnome stickers, adhering them to a vibrant yellow gingham paper. I was pleased to find that the stickers offer a degree of repositionability, allowing for minor adjustments before being securely burnished. For the fourth window pane, I chose a lemon-patterned print from the collection, which effectively complemented the pink hues featured in the gnomes' attire. This project was a delightful return to gnome-themed crafting, and I am very pleased with the final result!

To finish off, I just had to add this sentiment from Summer Sunshine! It was perfect! Especially with that gnome on the scooter. To really play on the lemon theme, I cut some of the lemon accents from the other stickers and carefully placed them around the corners and the sentiment block for accent. It really tied everything together.

Now onto card number two. I used the totally adorable stickers from the Sweet Summer Cottage roll, paired with the Watermelon Summer paper pad! Now, you know I'm a through-and-through cat lover, but this adorable little pup image stole my heart!

I popped him onto some lime green paper and matted with white and green cardstock. The sentiment from Spring Coffee is just so sweet with this image! I cut it into a fun circle and then sprinkled on some butterfly stickers and sparkly enamel dots for extra pizzazz! For the background, I used that same gorgeous lime paper and another fun print from the paper pad, and then added a clean white pinstripe peel-off to separate them! I finished off with three adorable watermelon heart stickers on the side.

May Jaded Blossom Sneaks Day 1

 

Hi friends! It's time for a fabulous new release from Jaded Blossom! This one  takes our cast of gnomes under the sea where life is much wetter! We're sneaking peeks at all the new goodies each day leading up to release day on Thursday, May 16. Today we're sharing our makes with the NEW Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons, Make a Splash Gnomie, Make a Splash Gnomie Outline Dies, and Bubble Stencil.

I started by building the little mer-gnome from the Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons.  I painted her clothing and accessories with Shimmerz paints in aquas and purples, then did a bit of sponging with distress oxide inks. The hair and face parts were cut from the P13 Skin Tones pad and accented with Copics. Once she was all assembled I started in on the background.

I started  with watercolor paper die cut with a stitched Rectangle 1 Die. I smooshed and splashed with mermaid lagoon, broken china, and salvaged patina distress inks.  Next I started to add some teal texture paste with the Bubbles Stencil. I realized a little late that I didn't use pixie spray to secure my stencil, so I had a bit of bleed through.  No worries, I just used a baby wipe to wipe off most of it. Once things were dry, I offset the stencil and added some white texture paste. I love the texture it created.

I gave her a little ground and some sea plants using die cuts to complete the scene. I finished off with a sentiment from the Make a Splash Gnomie set, embossed in white onto colored cardstock, then cut with the coordinating outline dies.
