Easter Treats with Your Paper Insider

Hello friends! Today I'm excited to share a couple of Easter treat boxes I created using papers from Your Paper Insider. Their quarterly subscription boxes are packed with a variety of beautiful cardstock and specialty papers, perfect for all sorts of papercrafting projects. I used their papers to create these fun boxes with the Octagon Treat Box and Easter Treat Box Add On dies from Jaded Blossom.

I was very impressed with the quality of this cardstock. It die cut cleanly and effortlessly, and the smooth surface was ideal for blending inks. I added some depth and dimension to this adorable bunny with a bit of Copic marker shading on the bow and ears. White gel pen highlights and black gel pen dots for freckles provide the finishing touches.

I couldn't resist making another box! This time, it's a cute little chick with a fabulous bow! I used some fancy Tarasen paper layered over pink pearl paper for the bow. The beak is my favorite part - I blended orange inks on yellow cardstock and then added glitter glaze. It's so sparkly! These boxes were a breeze to assemble, and I had a blast making them!

If you're interested in these papers, I've linked the box that I received below. You can buy older boxes individually or you can subscribe for a little discount. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Spooktacular Friend

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in to change up the scenery from all the Christmas going on lately. That's probably one of my least favorite part about designing for the craft industry is creating holiday cards out of season. Every once in a while I have to just take a break from team assignments and pop in something seasonally appropriate! {grin} My boys have decided not to dress up this year and just stay home and watch a family movie and pass out candy. Kind of a little sad, since they've so enjoyed trick or treating every single year to this point.

When I saw these cute ghosties from Jaded Blossom I just had to have them. I envisioned having a lot more time to create for Halloween, but at least I'm squeezing in a card with them before the holiday has passed!

I had fun dressing up the Gnome Friends: Ghost Dies in colors to match the Doodlebug papers I also HAD to have. {grin} For the ghostess on the right I used the coordinating Ghost Faces set. For the one on the left, I used the dies and then drew in the eyelashes and nose.

They're backdrop is the fun Photo Frame Die cut from black cardstock and then embossed in white with a sentiment from the Ghostly Greetings stamp set. I finished off with some doodlebug stickers.

Well, that's all for today. I'll be back tomorrow with a bit more Crafty Christmas in October.

Paradise

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in to share a little Jaded Blossom inspiration with you. Since our community pool opened over the weekend and the final week of school for the boys is here, I had summer on my mind when I sat down to create.

I made a splishy splashy kind of background, then used the Fish Stencil with a light layer of mint hydrangea paper glaze for some fun shimmer. Next I set the panel aside to dry and pulled out the Large Palm Tree Die and some brown, kraft, and green cardstocks.  I added some shading with Copic markers, then assembled.

Next I pulled out some distress sprays and sprayed a panel of watercolor cardstock with various brown shades.  I made one half of the paper lighter than the other, then cut the starfish with the Gnome Dies: Beach Add Ons from the lighter side.  I used the balloon border die from Border Dies 2 as my hill, hand trimming the balloon tie off.

Once things were dry, I added some splatters to the fish background, then glued on the hill and ran the panel through the die cut machine with the Card Mat Dies. I then layered everything together and added a sentiment from the Tropical Vibes set die cut with the coordinating outline dies.

May Jaded Blossom Release Blog Hop

If you're here from Cindy's blog you're in the right place, if you're just passing through start at the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing. I also have the complete line up at the bottom.

This release had me feeling all splashy and sassy, so I did lots of ink sprays, blending, and splatters in turquoises and greens. For the background, I stenciled over a smooshed background with the Mermaid Silhouette Stencil Freebie, then added more ink, sprays, and splatters.

The main die cut elements for the focal circle are from the Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons set, cut from watercolor paper and painted with shimmerz paints. I used a bit of that dirt I used in yesterday's card to ground my plants, then popped them up on a vellum circle splattered with coordinating paints. I added this to a scallop circle with a stitched circle cut out of the center to make a frame.

The sentiment is from the Mermaid to Be Friends stamp set and cut with the coordinating outline dies. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

May Jaded Blossom Sneaks Day 3

Hi friends! Welcome to Day 3 of the Jaded Blossom May Release! This one  takes our cast of gnomes under the sea where life is much wetter! We're sneaking peeks at all the new goodies each day leading up to release day on Thursday, May 16. Today we're sharing our makes with the NEW Embellishment Clusters Die and the Mermaid Silhouette Stencil Freebie.

For my card today, I chose to combine the new Fancy Shell Die with the Embellishment Clusters Die. I die cut the shell pieces from pearlized pink and shimmer white cardstock, then assembled, adding some liquid pearls to the pearl piece. The "dirt" is watercolor paper I sprayed with scorched timber and vintage phot distress sprays as well as some metallic mica spray. The lighter brown is sponged with antique photo and scorched timber inks then splattered with white paint.  I embossed the sentiment from Make a Splash Gnomie onto this panel.

To accent the shell and add a little interest I added diamonds and hearts from the Embellishment Clusters Die. I love how there are three sizes of each shape. They're perfect little accents.

May Jaded Blossom Sneaks Day 2

Hi friends! Welcome to Day 2 of the Jaded Blossom May Release! This one  takes our cast of gnomes under the sea where life is much wetter! We're sneaking peeks at all the new goodies each day leading up to release day on Thursday, May 16. Today we're sharing our makes with the NEW Fancy Shell Die, Mermaid to Be Friends, Mermaid To Be Friends Outline Dies, and Seaweed Stencil.

I love to color, so couldn't wait to pull out my Copics to color up this sweet mermaid image from Mermaid to Be Friends. I die cut her with the coordinating dies, then added a bit of glitter to the seashell in her hair.

To give her a little scene, I smooshed some greens onto a piece of watercolor paper, then used the Seaweed Stencil as a backdrop over the smooshing.  I cut this with a stitched rectangle, and matted with another stitched rectangle. For accent, I added a few clear enamel dots around the panel for the feeling of bubbles.  The sentiment is from Mermaid to Be Friends and cut with the coordinating outline dies.

I started  with watercolor paper die cut with a stitched Rectangle 1 Die. I smooshed and splashed with mermaid lagoon, broken china, and salvaged patina distress inks.  Next I started to add some teal texture paste with the Bubbles Stencil. I realized a little late that I didn't use pixie spray to secure my stencil, so I had a bit of bleed through.  No worries, I just used a baby wipe to wipe off most of it. Once things were dry, I offset the stencil and added some white texture paste. I love the texture it created.

I gave her a little ground and some sea plants using die cuts to complete the scene. I finished off with a sentiment from the Make a Splash Gnomie set, embossed in white onto colored cardstock, then cut with the coordinating outline dies. I finished off with a soft blue card base that I dry embossed with a bubble like embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you already know you want it all, the full release package is available right now in the shop!

May Jaded Blossom Sneaks Day 1

Hi friends! It's time for a fabulous new release from Jaded Blossom! This one  takes our cast of gnomes under the sea where life is much wetter! We're sneaking peeks at all the new goodies each day leading up to release day on Thursday, May 16. Today we're sharing our makes with the NEW Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons, Make a Splash Gnomie, Make a Splash Gnomie Outline Dies, and Bubble Stencil.

I started by building the little mer-gnome from the Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons.  I painted her clothing and accessories with Shimmerz paints in aquas and purples, then did a bit of sponging with distress oxide inks. The hair and face parts were cut from the P13 Skin Tones pad and accented with Copics. Once she was all assembled I started in on the background.

I started  with watercolor paper die cut with a stitched Rectangle 1 Die. I smooshed and splashed with mermaid lagoon, broken china, and salvaged patina distress inks.  Next I started to add some teal texture paste with the Bubbles Stencil. Oh So Happy

Hi friends! It's the first Sunday of a new month and that means it's time to reveal a new challenge on the Jaded Blossom blog. This month the challenge is ANYTHING GOES. I hope you can play along for a chance to win a Jaded Blossom stamp set of your choice!

May Challenge:
ANYTHING GOES
(must use at least one Jaded Blossom Product)

A new month brings a new monthly spotlight. This month we have two bundles in the spotlight. The Happy Hello set and coordinating dies as well as the Happy Hello Add Ons 2 and coordinating dies. You can grab them for a steal this month, while supplies last.

For my card today, I combined these two sets with the Coffee Mugs Stencil and the Gnome Dies: Coffee Add Ons for a little caffeinated fun. I stenciled  a card panel in aquas and blues, then cut with the Stitched Rectangles 1 Dies in the center. I matted that with a white Scallop Rectangles 1 die cut, then added that on dimensional foam for a bit of depth.

The you make me and oh so are from the Happy Hello stamp set, cut with the Sentiment Strip Dies. The happy is from the Happy Hello 2 Add Ons set, embossed in white onto blue, then cut with the coordinating Happy Hello 2 Add Ons Outline Dies.

I finished with a to go cup created with dies from the Gnome Dies: Coffee Add Ons.  I sponged the turquoise piece, then stenciled the heart in blue to match the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope to see you in the challenge link up this month!

You Make Me Happy

Hi friends! I'm popping in today with a little Jaded Blossom inspiration.  I pulled out an old favorite, the Just Add Marshmallows set and paired it with the Gnome Dies: S'more Add Ons for a just because kind of card.

The image of the cocoa mug was colored with Copic markers, then I cut a slit in the top to tuck in a few marshmallows cut with the Gnome Dies: S'more Add Ons.  I Copic colored one of the large marshmallow die cuts to finish off my focal point.

I used the Card Mat Dies for most of the panels of patterned paper, then pulled out the Happy Hello set for the sentiment strip.  I finished off with a few sparkling enamel dots for accent.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your day is happy!

Be Happy

Hi friends! It's my day to share a little Jaded Blossom inspiration on the blog. I've been feeling a little lackluster lately in the creative department.  When that happens, I like to get back to basics and just do some good old fashioned stamping and coloring.

This Rainbow Doodle image had yet to see ink, so I stamped it and the sentiment out in Mememto ink and got to work coloring them up with Copic markers. I added a few accents with a white gel pen, a clear stardust gel pen, and some glossy accents.

Since I had so much going on with all the happy colors, I decided to go with the Sunburst Card Mat Die in yellow, inlaid with white cardstock so the focus could be on the image.  I added both the image and sentiment on dimensional foam tape, then finished off with some aqua glimmer drops.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastically happy day!

Jaded Blossom April Release Hop

Hey Everyone!  Welcome to Jaded Blossom's April Stamp Release Blog Hop.
If you're here from Cindy's blog you're in the right place, if you're just passing through you'll want start at the beginning so you don't miss a thing.
I also have the complete line up at the bottom, if a link goes astray along the way.

Here is what I made:

Are there any How I Met Your Mother fans out there? Every time I see this sentiment from the Born to Ride set I giggle and think legend.... wait for it..... ary! I embossed it in silver onto black cardstock and then cut with the coordinating Born To Ride Outline Dies.

I thought this sentiment would go well with a biker girl, so I pulled out the Girl Gnome Die and the new Gnome Dies: Motorcycle Add Ons and got to work.  I cut the bike from some shiny black and foil papers from Christmas and Halloween Recollections paper pads.  I cut her leather jacket from mushroom cardstock and inked with black soot distress ink. Her shirt and bandana are done with some red patterned paper, with a bit of Copic marker shading.

The background for my mini slimline card is an old scrap of paper from a Tim Holtz 12 x 12 pad from years gone by.  I splattered it with a healthy dose of silver glimmer metallic ink and black india ink, then layered everything together to finish it off.

That's all from me. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you've enjoyed the peeks this past week. Be sure to leave a little love in the comments as you hop about for a chance to win the hop giveaway!
