Lets Be Mermaids and a Video Hop

Hi friends! Today I'm super excited to be joining a group of crafty YouTubers for the Sassy & Crafty Stamps YouTube Giveaway Hop! It's my first video hop (and my first video in a while), so hopefully I did everything right! {grin} Hop along on YouTube for a chance to win a stamp set from Sassy & Crafty's new release. All the details are in the description box in my video below, which you can watch here, or on my YouTube channel.

If y'all have been around my blog the past few months, you know I'm totally smitten with the stamps and stencils from Sassy & Crafty. For this card I chose to create a mixed-media card using the Salty but Sweet stamp set. I love this sentiment so much! I'm so done adulting right now. It's been a hard year for everyone. I used a bunch of Shimmerz paints because Mermaids should sparkle, right?  The background is done with glamour paste and the Droplets Stencil and more Shimmerz paints. To see it all come together, watch the video, then be sure to hop along as all of the participants are sharing Sass & Crafty videos with some coloring tips and techniques splashed in too.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastical non-adulting kind of day!

TCP Sneaky Peek Week Day 4

Hi friends! There's a brand spankin' new release from The Cat's Pajamas coming April 7.  Today's Day 4 of Sneaky Peek Week and we're featuring the gorgeous Still Life stamp set. Each day through release day,  the Cat Pack will be treating you to a peek at a new stamp set. Sets are available as they are peeked, so if you see a must-have there's no need to wait!

I think I literally gasped when I saw the preview of this set. Love all the gorgeous flowers, greenery, vases, etc. And there are coordinating dies to boot!  Holla holla! You can buy them together and save a little money with the Still Life Bundle.

I started by stamping all of the images and coloring with Copic markers in pinks and greens.  I then die cut and arranged to my liking in the fun vase.  I wanted the flowers to take center stage, so went minimal with the background, using some shimmerz spray for a watercolor background to ground my image and sentiment.

Next I stamped the sentiment (don't you just love it?) in black ink over the watercolor and then glued down the flowers next to it.  I popped this entire panel up on a foam sheet, then layered onto an A2 sized card base.

Alrighty, thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to see what my other teamies are sharing today. Leave a little love at each of their blogs today for a chance to win the drawing! Check out all the details on the TCP Blog.

January Sneaky Peek Day 4

Hi friends! It's Day 4 of Sneaky Peek Week for The Cat's Pajamas! Alma has adorable sets for you this release. Have you been enjoying all the peeks so far this week? Each day through release day, January 28, the Cat Pack will be treating you to a peek at a new stamp set. Look for the In it to Win it graphic and leave a little comment love on those posts for a chance to win a Cat Cash gift code to the shop! Sets are available as they are peeked, so if you see a must-have there's no need to wait.

Today's featured stamp set is the Follow the Bunny set. This one's filled with some sweet little spring critters and fun sentiments. You can grab the two together at a discount in the Follow the Bunny Bundle.

I started by coloring the images with Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush markers and some Shimmerz paints and then cutting with the coordinating Follow the Bunny Dies. I love these sweet little chicks, so decided to use one of the peeps sentiments.

I recently got some new Inklingz, so had to test them out for the background.  I swiped some Hot Stuff, Precious Posey, and Plum Crazy Inklingz on acetate and then smooshed onto watercolor paper, drying in between colors.  Once I was done, I splattered with the same colors of paint.  I pulled it all together by painting the purple and pinks in the stamped images with the same colors, then adding a scallop circle mat and layering all my die cuts together.

Alrighty, now it's time to see what my other teamies are sharing today. Hop on over and take a peek at the rest of The Cat Pack’s goodies, and then comment on each of the following blogs and you could win a $10 gift voucher. Alma will pick a winner each day this week from the comments on the blogs and post it on the next days sneaky peek post on the TCP Blog!

It's Your Day

Hi friends! I hope you had a fantastic Christmas surrounded by love and laughter. Today I'm popping in to share a little shimmery magic with you.

In the midst of my mad-dash holiday cardmaking blitz earlier this month, I needed to take a break from all things Christmas. So I pulled out my Shimmerz paints and set to work making a birthday card for a teenager. That seemed about as far away from Christmas as I could get! LOL!  This little radio image from the Vintage Love seemed like the perfect start. I embossed it on watercolor paper, then painted with Evergreen Shimmerz and Lettuce Get Together Creameez, then fussy cut.  I set this aside, and worked on the background, smooshing with the same color inks, and then splattering with Coal Shimmerz.

I added a few music notes stamped randomly across the top, then embossed a sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too set onto black cardstock.  To make things look not so much like they're floating in space, I broke off a piece of brick chipboard and painted it with coal to layer down on the card. I finished with a few distressed edges.

Thoughts and Prayers

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a shimmery card with you pairing two of my favorite things... Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Shimmerz Paints.

I started out just wanting to play with paint, so I pulled out pink caviar and pip pip cherry-o Shimmerz and started playing on watercolor paper.  When I got the look I wanted, I cut the panel and rounded the corners.  I then pulled out the gorgeous Fantastic Flowers set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and stamped this bloom and watercolored with the same paints, adding a touch of candlelight Shimmerz for the flower center.

The flower is fussy cut then I curled up each petal just a bit.  I then decided my background needed a bit more somethin', so I pulled out the Texture Tiles 1 set and randomly added some script text to the watercolored panel. The sentiment is from Mason Jar Bouquet and is embossed in white on a vellum circle.

For the base of the card, I wanted some texture and shine, so pulled out a succulent stencil and some Spun Sugar Dazzlerz.  My stencil had a bit of pink caviar I hadn't cleaned all the way off, so it gave just a hint of pink while bringing all that dazzle!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day.  If you're inspired to hit the Shimmerz shop, remember to mention my name in the comments when you place your order for a free mini surprise.

November Keeping Christmas Blog Hop

Hi friends! It's the 25th of the month, and that means it's time for the final Keeping Christmas Blog Hop of the year. Come hop along with my crafty friends as we share our Christmas makes for this month.

If you're just popping in, the hop starts over at Kelly's blog. If you came from Claire Broadwater's blog, then you're right on track! 😊

For my card, I was feeling the watercolor bug, so pulled out the gorgeous Poinsettia Greetings stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and some watercolors from Shimmerz Paints. The poinsettia image is embossed in white on a large panel of watercolor paper. I then colored the poinsettia with Great Fruit, the greenery with Emerald City and did a wash around the image with Ride the Tide. I love how soft these colors are.

Next I got out a Cut-Align ruler and pen knife to help me cut the panel down to card front size without cutting off the petals or leaves. This large stamped image is larger than a card front and I love the way it just kind of sprawls off the edges.

Once the panel was cut, I added the stamped sentiment, masking off the happy and the s from Happy Holidays and adding cheer below.  Then I used the stamps to mask off my stamped images and splattered some Well Blue Me Down and some Snow Storm splatters around the edges.

A black mat sets it off and helps ground the sentiment a bit.  I embellished with some holeless sequins, a few pearls and a bit of sheer ribbon to finish things off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Season of Love

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in with a shimmery card to share. This one was snow much fun to watercolor.

I was in the mood for some emboss resist watercoloring, so started by embossing snowflakes from the adorable Cheerful Snowmen set on watercolor paper, then masking off the edges of the panel and started on my background. I did wet on wet, plopping Well Blue Me Down randomly onto the wet paper. I dried the layer, then wet the area again and plopped some Hint of Mint in the other areas. I continued doing this until I had the mottled snowy day kind of look I was going for.

Next I moved on to this sweet snowman. Don't you love his little banner? I embossed him in black on watercolor paper, then watercolored with the same two colors, adding in some Bronzed Bombshell, Freshly Squeezed, and Pink Moscato for the little details.

a snowman needs to shimmer, so I finished off with a light coating of Angel Wings on the snowman body.  Then I hand trimmed around the image and set aside. The sentiment is embossed in black on the panel, then I popped the snowman image up on dimensional foam tape and added some shabby edges for a rustic touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! As always, you can mention my name when you place an order in the Shimmerz Shop to receive a free paint.  Happy painting!

It is Well

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a fun little card for Shimmerz. I was inspired by one of the Dotz in the Sweet Girl collection. I loved the blue and pink flowers, so decided to build my card around that.

I started by masking off a rectangle of watercolor paper, then stenciling a modern stencil with Moulin Rouge Shimmerz. I let that dry, then put down a ledger stencil and used Pip Pip Cherry-O Shimmerz  with that.  I then added some splatters with Blue My Mind Inklingz and Pip Pip Cherry-O and set the panel aside to dry.

Next I embossed the outline flower from the Fresh Start Stampz set in black a few times, then watercolored with the above colors.  I also stamped a couple of the leaves from the set and colored with Green Olive.  I just love that shimmer!

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from an old Verve set, Surely Goodness. It's one of my favorites and I embossed it in black, and then added the Dotz that inspired the card, as well as a sprinkling of sequins and enamel dots.
