Handcrafted Hello

Hi friends! Happy Friday! Can you believe it's already the end of March? This month has flown by. Today I'm popping in to share a card I created for a rainbow themed card swap. Whenever I have a chance to make a card that isn't for a design team, I like to pull from my pile of goodies that haven't seen ink yet. These little critters from Reverse Confetti fit the bill. Sadly, Reverse Confetti is out of business, but I still love their stamps!

The images are from the Love Wins, Rain or Shine and Crafty Critters stamp sets. I colored them up with Copic markers and then cut with the coordinating dies.

Next I used a Jaded Blossom cloud stencil and some tumbled glass ink for some barely there clouds. The grass is from a retired Slimline Basics border die from The Cat's Pajamas, and I accented with Copic markers. This was a super fun card to create and send.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative start to your weekend.

Happiest of Days

Hi friends, today is my day to post on the Jaded Blossom Blog, and I have a soft and pretty spring birthday card to share with you.

I started this card with the gorgeous new Tulips layering set. I stamped the outline of the tulip with stem and the leaf in black ink, then stamped the highlight portion for the flower and leaf in a fadeout no line watercolor ink.  I then used those faint lines to go in with copic markers in my darkest shades and add the shadows, then blend out the rest of the image with lighter shades. I then cut with the coordinating Tulips Outline Dies and assembled together.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I get stuck in a reality rut, thinking things need to be their actual color... especially with stencils. Here I started with the idea of traditional orange carrots as a background, but then decided to give a tone on tone look a try and I love the way it turned out! So here I stenciled the Carrot Stencil with the same color ink as the cardstock, then added the carrot tops with a light green ink for a soft and subtle background,. This allows my tulip image to take center stage on the card. The sentiment is from the Hello Beautiful stamp set (I just LOVE these gorgeous sentiments) and embossed in white onto a Stitched Oval Die cut. I then matted with a vellum die cut with the Scallop Oval Dies and accented the scallops with some nuvo drops.  I finished off with the Card Mat Dies for a finished edge on my background panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative day!

Spring Flowers

Hi friends! I'm super excited that it's officially spring! I can't wait to see the flowers start blooming. Today I'm sharing a card I created with the Not 2 Shabby March Stamp of the Month, Just for You. I love getting this subscription in the mail each month! It's a super versatile set, with a variety of beautiful floral images.  I paired the set with some prints from the Winter Wonders paper pad to create a sweet Mother's Day card.

I started by stamping the watering can, then masking off the top and stamping the flowers.  I colored with Copic markers, then cut out with my Brother Scan 'n Cut. The sentiment is stamped onto an oval die cut, and I added some scallop matting to my layers to frill things up a bit.  I finished off the card  with a seam binding bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous start to your weekend.

Gnome What

Hi friends! I'm back today with another just for fun card. I was playing around with the March release from Jaded Blossom and created this sweet little carrot girl gnome.

The gingham and linen papers are from Doodlebug, cut with the Gnome Dies: Easter Add Ons 2 dies and the Girl Gnome Dies.  I added some sunglasses with the Glasses Dies, then assembled everything together.

The background pieces are cut with the Card Layer Dies 1. For the pocket shape and the triangle, I stenciled the Carrot Stencil, then cut matching pieces from vellum to layer over the top and soften the look. The sentiment is from Happy Easter Gnomie and embossed in black onto the vellum overlay. The little mushroom is from the Mushroom House Die .

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative day.

Shello Friend

Shello, friends! I'm popping in today with a just for fun card with the Snail Village stamp and die bundle from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I love to color, so the other day had a little coloring session in the corner while my boys were doing an online programming class.

I did a little masking to have the larger flower image in front of my house, originally thinking I would do a one layer scene.  I added in a teeny snail, then colored things up with copic markers.  I added a little hill to ground everything, then stenciled some Puffy Clouds in the background.  I then decided the snail mailman seemed like the perfect little friend for the scene, so stamped him and a couple more flower images.  Once they were colored, I cut with the coordinating Snail Village dies.

I then cut the panel down to size, adding some black mats, and the sentiment embossed in white on black cardstock.  The background is a tone on tone technique with the Leaf Branch Stencil.

I hope you're having a great week. It's spring break here and we've been on stay-cation. It's been really low key so far, since one of my boys has a bad cold and doesn't have much energy. Hopefully he's feeling good again soon.

Rise and Grind

Hi friends! Today is the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps March Inspiration Hop over on Instagram. I'm sharing this springtime card featuring a few of my favorite sets. Of course if I'm picking favorites, a little coffee is sure to be involved! LOL

I absolutely adore the bunnies and chicks in the Hoppy Spring set illustrated by Jennifer Nilsson. As I was deciding what to create, I happened to see the I Like Big Cups set, and thought how cute the bunny would look on the to go cup image. So I just had to test it out!

I started by stamping the cup onto white cardstock and then masking the lid and outer areas from the cup. I stamped the bunny image from Hoppy Spring with the mask still down and peeled it up for a little masking magic.  I then colored with copic markers, using a dotting technique to give a fluffy look to the bunny's fur. I then cut the coffee cup out with my Brother Scan 'n Cut.

The little chickies are just too cute not to stamp, so I stamped them, colored them up, then cut with the coordinating Hoppy Spring Dies. The sentiment is from the Coffee Talk 2 stamp set, and I stamped it onto a circle die cut that I had blended with white ink, then glued to the center of a small blue doily.  For the background I went with a chicken wire embossing folder, then finished off with a satin knotted bow.

Be sure to head over to Instagram for all the inspiration along the hop, plus a chance to win a $25 gift code to the SNSS shop. It all starts on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Instagram page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day. Spring is just around the bend!

You Crack Me Up

Hi friends! It's my day to share over on the Jaded Blossom Blog and I've got a little gnome card to tell you all about. Have you seen the new March release? The gnome die add ons are always a favorite, and the new Gnome Dies: Easter Add Ons 2 set is definitely a must have! Pair it with a fun stencil and you've got a super cute carrot patch dream.

I started this card with that cute carrot hat. Isn't it darling? I die cut from white cardstock, then colored with copic markers.  The Gnome Dies beard and hat were cut from a light gray cardstock and I used a white gel pen for accents.  I thought it would be fun to have my gnome incognito as a bunny, so added some eyes from the Gnome Dies: Chick Add Ons to the bunny nose mask. Then I added a carrot from the Build a Booth: Easter Add Ons in his other hand.  I used the Gnome Dies: Leg Add Ons for his pants and feet. He just cracks me up with his buck teeth and carrot top, so I decided to use  the sentiment from the Easter Tweetings set.

For the background I used the new Carrot Stencil set on white cardstock, then cut with one of the curved stitch dies from the Border Dies 2 set. I matted with a scallop from the same set, then added to a panel of light green cardstock and used the Card Mat Dies for a finished edge.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative day.

3) Freebie offer is Thursday and Friday ONLY, while supplies last

I'm sharing two cards today because I just couldn't stop creating! {grin} First up, I couldn't let the release go by without a girl gnomie. When I saw the bunny slippers in the Gnome Dies: Easter Add Ons 2 I immediately wanted to add a coffee cup, so pulled out the original Gnome Dies for that. I then decided to make my gnomie some fun pjs with patterned paper using the Girl Gnome Dies and the Gnome Dies: Legg Add Ons.  I added a little bunny stuffy in one arm, then saw that the jelly bean die was the perfect size to use as a sleep mask on her head.  I added some bunny ears from the previously released Gnome Dies: Easter Add Ons, then assembled the bunny slippers adding her hair bows to their ears.

The sentiment seemed like the perfect one for this coffee wielding gnome girl. It's from the Perk Up set and die cut with a tag from the Mini Tag Dies 3. In hind sight I wish I'd put a layer of vellum over the background paper, as her legs kind of blend into the busy background, but this girl is glued down permanently. Oh well, there's always the next card, right?

My second card for today uses the gorgeous new Tulips set and coordinating Tulips Outline Dies.  I did some multi step stamping with pinks and greens for the bulbs and greenery. Once I had them lined up in my Misti, it was easy to stamp multiples, then die cut.

The sentiment is created with the hello from Happy Hello stamped onto the skinny rectangle in the Card Mat Dies. I cut a second rectangle, then clipped off the end to make the rectangle big enough to fit the spring die cut from the Spring Word Dies 2 set.  I then splattered white cardstock with the same colors of ink I used on the tulips, and finished off with some black matting to make things pop.

Jaded Blossom March Release Sneak Peeks Day 3

Hi friends! It's the final day of sneaky peeks for the March Jaded Blossom release. That means release day is almost here! Yay! Today we're sneaking peeks at the new Tulips, Tulips Outline Dies, and the Chubby Bunny Die FREEBIE. This freebie is only available if you make a $60 purchase that includes at least one new release product. The offer is good Thursday and Friday only, while supplies last. So if you want this sweet little chubby bunny that I'm peeking today, now is the time think about what you want from the new release! Here's a little peek at the products being revealed today.

The multi step tulip set is absolutely beautiful and I'll be sharing a card with it later in the week, but today is all about this sweet little chubby bunny. My first project are some little treat bags for my boys. When they were small we dressed Kellan in blue and Trevor in green to make it easy for people to tell them apart. At around 2 year old, Trevor decided he wanted nothing more to do with green and usurped the color blue. To this day 11 years later, when we get things that are the same Trevor is blue and Kellan is green. So when I saw a bag of just blue and green Hershey eggs I decided to dress up the chubby bunny in blue and green for their Easter baskets.

Along with the Chubby Bunny Die, I borrowed an egg from the Build a Booth: Easter Add Ons for the eggs, then made a topper with the Fancy Topper Die. The sentiment is from the Follow the Easter Bunny set. It's currently sold out, but if you want it be sure to sign up for notifications, that is how they gauge what to reorder.

My second project for today is a little wrapper for some Peeps candies. While I don't like these at all I know a couple little girls that will eat anything with sugar in it! And bonus points if it's pink! LOL  I noticed the chubby bunny was the perfect size for the candies stamps Jaded Blossom has, so I pulled out the previously released Easter Candies *Grid Style* and stamped the hangin' with my peeps sentiment.

Here are directions to make the holder. These dimensions are for the smaller 4 count packages of Peeps from the Dollar Tree.
  • Score a 2.5" x 8.5" piece of cardstock on the long side at 1, 4, 5, and 8 inches
  • Burnish folds and apply adhesive to the 1/2" end
  • Wrap cardstock around the package and adhere under the fold of one of the sides
  • Mat with designer paper
    • 2 pieces 2.25" x 2.75" for front and back
    • 2 pieces 2.25" x 0.75" for the sides
  • Tie with bakers twine and embellish with die cuts or stamped images

Jaded Blossom March Release Sneak Peeks Day 2

Hi friends! I'm back with day 2 of sneaky peeks for the March Jaded Blossom release. The team is sneak peeking each day leading up to a fun Blog Hop on release day, March 9. Today we're sneaking peeks at the new Gnome Dies: Chick Add Ons, Easter Tweetings, and Easter Tweetings Outline Dies. While these products aren't available individually until release day, you can skip the wait and purchase the Gotta Have It Now package today, and get the entire release at a discount now! Here's a peek at the products being revealed today.

Just when you think the gnomes can't get any cuter, Jaded Blossom comes out with the Chick Add Ons for the gnome dies! Eep, these are just too cute! And as always there's a fabulous sentiment set to go with the addd-ons.  For my card, I decided to dress my gnome up as if he's hatching from an Easter egg.

I die cut all the pieces from white cardstock, then colored with Copic markers and assembled. I wanted a fluffy look for the chick, so used some half circle motions with the markers and a white gel pen. I still need to work on that technique, but it did definitely add some texture.

There are eye pieces for the chick in the die set, but I'm a little bit die challenged, and didn't figure that out until later in my card making session. So I just drew in some half circles and added some eyelashes for the eyes.  The chick legs make me smile, so I had to add those and a little egg for my gnomie to carry.

I love this sentiment from the new Easter Tweetings set and over laid it across part of the Easter egg shell. A fun coordinating patterned paper background and some rhinestones finish things off.

Jaded Blossom March Release Sneak Peeks Day 1

Hi friends! It's the start of sneaky peeks for the March Jaded Blossom Release. This one is filled with adorable spring stamps, dies, and stencils. I've been having so much fun creating with this release, and can't wait to share my creations this week. We'll be sneak peeking each day leading up to a fun Blog Hop on release day, March 9. Today we're sneaking peeks at the new Gnome Dies: Easter Add Ons 2, Build a Booth: Easter Add Ons, Carrots for Sale, and Carrots Stencil. While these products aren't available individually until release day, you can skip the wait and purchase the Gotta Have It Now package today, and get the entire release at a discount now. Here's a peek at the products being revealed today.

Y'all know I love me some gnomies, so for my card today I decided to add a couple of stamped gnomies from the previously released Happy Easter Gnomie set to man a carrot booth. I colored them up in blues and greens to represent my twin boys {grin}, then fussy cut them (they do have coordinating outline dies in case you aren't into fussy cutting, but I wanted the cleaner no border look) and started working on building their carrot sales booth.

The booth elements from the Build a Booth set are cut from desert storm cardstock and then sponged with vintage photo distress ink. I then layered the pieces together and used some pewter nuvo drops for the nail holes. Next I pulled out the new Build a Booth: Easter Add Ons and cut all the carrot dies from white cardstock. I colored with Copics and layered together, adding the larger carrot in the center of the banner as a placeholder for the pricing pieces.  The sentiment is from Carrots for Sale stamp set and embossed in black on a copic colored build a booth piece.

The card base is stenciled in tumbled glass and broken china inks with the Cloud Stencil. I added a little green to the bottom and a couple of grass pieces from the Mushroom House Die Set to finish off the scene.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll stop by each day this week for more inspiration with the March release.  If you have some time, be sure to head over to the Jaded Blossom Blog to see what my teamies are sharing today.  Below are all the details for the Gotta Have it Now package.
