Slimline Monochrome

Hi friends, I'm popping in with another slimline card today! I had so much fun creating this one.

I started by stamping most of the gear stamps from the Gear Up set randomly on a panel of cream cardstock with brown fusion ink. When I was done, I thought I wanted a bit more grunge, so used the grunge splatter stamp on the insides of the solid looking gears and any open areas.  I cut the stamped panel with a slimline die, then blended the same ink color around the edges and matted with brown cardstock blended with the same twiggy brown ink.

For the sentiment panel, I pulled out the Hymn Word Art set and stamped it in the center.  Next I added the screw stamp in each corner. I used a waterbrush to blend the ink in, and then went in again and stamped over it to give it a crisper look. The grid stamp and some second generation stamping of that grunge splatter finished the look, and I used the same blending and matting to finish off that panel.  My finished card is 3.5" x 8.5".

I also have to say, I'm totally smitten with the Ink Off stamp cleaner from Ink on 3 (I'm not affiliated with them, I just stress bought a ton of inks from them back in March and am just now playing with them! 😀) It's the same size as an ink pad, but has a stamp cleaning and conditioning magic potion (LOL) that cleans your stamps. So convenient and it works so well.

Now onto something I am affiliated with... Sweet n Sassy Stamps is having a fabulous sitewide sale this weekend. That means my digi set, Sunshine in a Cup is on sale!  Woohoo! Here are a couple of cards I created with it that never made it here to the blog.

For this first one, I played on the "hang in there" sentiment and hung my colored coffee cup from a mini brad. The background is done with the fun Grunge Elements 2 stamp set.

And on the second card, I paired a sentiment from the Sunshine in a Cup Digital Set with the Kiwi Koala's Cuppa digi. Isn't he cute? My sister was crazy for koalas when we were kids. Koala everything!Anyhow, I colored him up with copics, then hand trimmed and laid the whole thing out on a fun digi paper I printed.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
