Amazing Love

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in with a card I made just because. I was enjoying the sunshine and reflecting on Easter weekend and Christ's sacrifice and I just couldn't help but let it all pour into my card.

Amazing love, indeed. I've been seeing a bunch of Easter creations in blogland using Verve sets and feeling a bit teary eyed about missing my little company.  So I had to sneak in a couple of Verve dies to create this card. The cross die is painted with Chocolate & Diamonds Inklingz. This might be my favorite brown watercolor paint ever. So shimmery and beautiful! I then embossed the cross with the 3D Lumber embossing folder for a woodgrain effect.

My layered stamping started by die cutting the cross from a post-it note and laying it down as a mask on my die cut rectangle and then stamping the flowers and greenery from Genuine Love from the set. I also stamped and cut a few of the roses in yellow and oranges and hand trimmed to layer at the bottom.  This panel is blended with mint julep ink and I did the same for the sentiment circle in which I stamped the word love.  I had originally planned to use the sentiment love one another on the card, but as I was reflecting I kept singing the Amazing Love song and just had to pull out the amazing word die from my Verve stash. (sniff, sniff)

I cut the word twice from white cardstock and once from cardstock painted with the Chocolate & Diamonds Inklingz and then layered them all together. The roses in Genuine Love reminded me of an embossing folder I just picked up on sale at JoAnn's, so I embossed another rectangle with this folder, then blended in orange and yellow.  All of this is layered onto a white panel with the same embossed pattern and a white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic Easter weekend.
