Oh Joy

Hi friends! It's a brand new month, and that means it's time for a new release at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Yay! This release is simply beautiful with imagery that has me overjoyed that spring has arrived finally.
This card started with the lovely Song Birds set. I stamped the image twice, coloring the bird on one and the flowers on the other image with Copic markers. Next I trimmed around the bird, then I trimmed around the flower image, doing a bit of fussy cutting along the stamped line where the flowers and the bird would meet. (This set has coordinating dies, I just don't have them yet.)  I added the colored flowers to the image on foam tape for a little dimension, then gave it a touch of wink of stella for some sparkle.

The background is done with the new Sunburst Layering Stencils. First I blended some distress heavy stock paper using Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar ink.  I then stenciled over this using the same color ink in each section for a fun background.

I finished with the oh, joy sentiment directly on the inked background.

Thanks so much for stopping by  today!

Reverse Confetti May New Release Hop

Hi friends! I'm so excited to be joining in the new release celebration with the Reverse Confetti Crew and 'Fetti Friends today. This month they're celebrating SIX wonderful years of bringing amazing products to the crafting community! Holla, holla!

Sweet celebration is the key phrase with this release, and I know you're going to want them all!  Products are shipping now, so head on over to the shop to check out all the new goodies. I've linked up all the new goodies in the link list at the bottom of this post.

I've got four cards to share with you today, so let's get to the fun new goodies!

I started this card with the Party & Celebrate Confetti Cuts. I love the big chunky letters and thought it would be fun to cut strips from the Sweet Stripes 6 x 6 paper pad and piece them together before die cutting the word celebrate. I then cut a panel with the Pierced Round Top Layer Confetti Cuts and adhered the letters over the rounded end.

Next I pulled out the Cake & Champagne set and embossed several of the fireworks randomly in sparkle embossing powder on the panel.  I then sponged lightly with iced aqua ink.  The champagne flutes are colored with Copics, then cut with the coordinating Cake & Champagne Confetti Cuts. I added a flower from the set for a bit of decoration, then pulled out the fabulous So Many Sentiments set for the sip, sip hooray.  I layered a few leftover paper strips as banners behind it, then accented with the bow image from the Cake & Champagne set.  I finished off with more Sweet Stripes paper and a white card base.

Next I moved on to the adorable Ice Cream Social set. I fell in love with all the sweet treats in this set. So much fun for summer!

I started by stamping and coloring the bunny and a few treats, then cutting with the coordinating Ice Cream Social Confetti Cuts.  Next I created a little frame by cutting the Scalloped Squares Confetti Cuts from a couple of the prints in the Sweet Stripes pad.  The have a cool birthday sentiment is embossed in white on stormy cardstock, then layered as a banner across the frame.

To continue the striped theme, I embossed the card front with a diagonal stripe embossing folder, then added a vertical strip of the navy stripe paper to ground my images. My finishing touches were a linen thread bow and a bit of glitter.

My third card features the So Many Sentiments and another darling image from the  Ice Cream Social set.

I thought this sweet little bear eating a sno cone perfectly fit the you make my heart happy sentiment, so I stamped the sentiment several times on iced aqua cardstock. I then stamped the fireworks from Cake & Champagne tone on tone and added in some white gen pen dots for a border.

The hearts are cut using the heart die from the Big Bear Confetti Cuts set. I colored them with Copics to match the sno cone, then added a few white gel pen accents. The background is paper from the From Cupid paper pad and I accented with some satin ribbon and a few holeless sequins to finish it off.

I still had a few leftover colored images on my desk, so I decided to make them into a quick card.  The popsicle image from Ice Cream Social is stamped, colored and cut five times, then staggered over a lightly sponged iced aqua background.

I added the you're the sweetest sentiment in the corner and finished with a flower image from the Cake & Champagne set. I love how beautifully these sets mix and match! There's a bit of glitter to make it look frosty on each of the popsicles, but for some reason it only shows on one popsicle in the picture.

Reverse Confetti March New Release Hop

Hi friends! I'm so excited to be joining in the new release celebration with the Reverse Confetti Crew and 'Fetti Friends today. This release is filled with a beautiful mix of whimsy and elegance! All the sets are shipping now, so head on over to the shop to check out all the new goodies.
I've got four card designs to share with you today, so let's get to it...

Tomorrow my twins turn 7 (how on earth did that happen???), so the So Super set was first on my list to use. I just knew these adorable little superheroes would make the sweetest birthday cards! I kept things simple because a) they're boys b) they're 7 and only opening the card first because it's expected before you open the present! 😂 and c) there's two of them! The boys love orange and blue, which are the colors of our hometown college team. So I stamped the images in black ink and then colored with Copics and cut with the coordinating So Super Confetti Cuts. I then pulled out the Lotsa Dots stencil and blended across the background with distress inks.

I stamped the city skyline in midnight onto Stormy cardstock, then cut with the die to place behind my superhero.  The sentiment is masked off and stamped in two lines to fit inside the Pierced Round Top Layers Confetti Cuts die cut and then I accented with the stamped, cut and colored lightning bolt, jazzed up a bit with some glitter glue. When I was finished, I created a second almost identical card, just swapping the colors of the super disguises.

I couldn't ink up this set without using the adorable puppy image. So next I colored him in, adding in a little spot around one of his eyes, and  then cut with the coordinating Confetti Cuts. I cut down a sheet of orange polka dot paper from the new Darling Dots 6 x 6 paper pad, then glued it to a white card panel and stamped the hot dog sentiment so it would cross both types of paper. Next I stamped the action bubble two times and added the pow! and bam! words, then colored and die cut to pop up.  I felt like the card needed a bit more, so did some pierced dots around the patterned paper layer to finish things off. Another simple card, but I love how it turned out.

Next, I moved on to the gorgeous Floral Gem set. I just couldn't wait to ink up these beautiful images. And it coordinates with the Sentimental Gems set that has a host of fabulous sentiments that fit inside! Aquamarine was the color that first came to mind. It's my favorite color and also the boys' birthstone, so I started in on coloring the gem image in aqua tones.  I had intended it to be a bit lighter, but grabbed the wrong color accidentally when I went to shade in the center portion, so I just rolled with it! I cut the gem image with the coordinating Floral Gem Confetti Cuts. I added the you make this world a better place sentiment from Sentimental Gems to the center. The flowers are stamped separately, colored in purples, and then fussy cut (there are coordinating dies, but I wanted a close cut here) and popped up on foam dots. I added some glitter glue to the flower centers and also to accent all the facets on the gem.

For the background of the card, I picked out another pattern from the Darling Dots 6 x 6 pad and then cut the Grid Stitched Tag Confetti Cuts from designer paper from the Free Spirit 6 x 6 pad and midnight cardstock for the hole reinforcer.  I layered this on the aqua dot paper, then traced around with a black pen to make it stand out a bit.  I added a little Heidi Swapp washi tape to the bottom of the panel, then layered everything together and accented with rhinestones.

I unfortunately had need of  a couple sympathy cards this week, so decided to tackle one of them for my next card. I stamped the lifting you up in prayer sentiment from Sentimental Gems in black on a white panel cut with the Pierced Round Top Layers Confetti Cuts. Next I stamped all the separate images from the Floral Gem set, colored with Copics and then cut with the coordinating Floral Gem Confetti Cuts.  Then it was simply a matter of layering them together and adding to a bit of this gorgeous mint paper from the Darling Dots 6 x 6 pad.
