Look Mom, No Stamps

Seriously... how is it already the last day of October? Time just keeps on speeding by! Today I'm sharing a couple of cards I created earlier this month for the Crafter's Companion Gemini FoilPress Product Focus. I didn't use any stamps on either of them, which is unusual for me, but I love the way they turned out.

First up is a shabby chic card.  I foiled the Happy birthday and small butterfly dies that come with the FoilPress onto designer paper in gold, then cut one butterfly from cardstock and then foiled over it so I could pop it up.  The 3d embossing folder came with the Gemini Jr. and is so lovely! It embossed both a swirl and a linen texture that's just gorgeous. I debossed it by coating one side of the folder with brown ink and then running through my die cut machine.  I finished off with some paper flowers, lace trim, and gold beading.

My second card for today was actually one of my mistakes at learning to foil, but I was able to salvage it and really like the finished card!

 I started by smooshing some blue hawaii and splash reactive inks onto water color paper.  Next I foiled the paper layering seahorse die in turquoise.  This is a very detailed die and it foiled, but the lines were so faith they were so hard to see on the background.  So I then decided to just cut the seahorse out, but I failed to tape it down and it slid just a bit.  I decided that was okay, though, so I  backed the negative of the die cut with the turquoise file, then popped up the seahorse for a little dimension.  I finished off with a sweet little Hello die included with the Gemini Jr.

Hi friends! Happy Friday! Today I'm popping in to share another coffee card. This one houses a coffee gift card, so double the fun.

The foxes in the For Fox Sake set have to be THE cutest foxes ever! I thought it would be fun to pair this little gardening fox with the Sponsored By set for some coffee loving flair.

I stamped the fox and colored with Copic markers, then used the Cut Align to trim him out.  Next I cut three strips of the Grass die cut from green cardstock, then added a few accents with a Copic marker and layered them together. Next came the teeny coffee cup from Sponsored By, which I colored and then fussy cut to layer over the flower in the image as if this little fox is filling up his cup! I'm not much of a gardener, but I do love coffee out on the back porch!

The sentiment, today's good mood is sponsored by coffee, is also from Sponsored By and one of my all-time faves! I added another little coffee cup on the side of the sentiment and matted with gray cardstock.  Next I stamped and cut a few clouds from the For Fox Sake set to scatter across the card.  For the gift card pocket, I used the inner stitched rectangle from the Rectangular Stamp Die, secured on three sides with double sided adhesive.  I layered everything onto a soft blue card panel and stamped a strip of the coffee cup and pot stamp from Sponsored By at the bottom to finish things off.

Sending Smiles

 Hi friends! I’m popping in with another card I made with the Mail Jumble background from the Hero Arts catalog release. I just love all those different mail pieces!

I started by stamping the background in intense black ink and then cutting out the individual pieces. I wanted a vintage look to them- so sponged the edges of each first with Butter Bar and then with Cup O’ Joe. I also stamped the sentiment from the Hero Greetings Sending Smiles set, sponging with the same inks.

Next I pulled out some of the new Canary card stock and embossed the Mail Jumble Background with Lemon Yellow ink and clear embossing powder. I sponged around the edges of this panel to match the other elements, then layered them all together. Once assembled I felt it needed a little something more, so added some yellow baker's twine. I finished off with black mats and some crystal clear lacquer accents on the sweet little hearts.
