Blessed by Your Love

Hi friends! I'm popping in to share another card I made for the May Diva Inspirations challenge. For this one, I coated a piece of heavy white cardstock with gesso. Next I sponged on picked raspberry, worn lipstick and seedless preserves distress oxides and spritzed and dried and spritzed some more.  Then I dipped a baby wipe in some funky fuchsia paint and dabbed on, repeating until I got the depth I wanted.

The sentiment and flower are printed from the Favorite Mom DIGITAL Set and I colored the flowers and leaves with Cipics, then fussy cut and added some white gel pen accents.  I framed the sentiment with a doily die cut, then added both of the die cuts from the Lacey Trim Duo die set to the bottom to tie it all together.

I had some heavy cardstock scraps I wanted to use up from 12 x 12 paper I had cut down to 8.5 x 11, so the finished card measures 3.5 x 5.5". I love this size, as it still fits in a regular A2 envelope.

Yesterday was Muffins for Mom in both of my boys' classrooms. Kellan had so much fun giving me lessons on some of his favorite practical life work items... chair washing, coffee grinding (a VERY important skill to have), liquid pouring, and baby washing!  Unfortunately, the baby sat on the table with the mess from the coffee grinding while Kellan was preparing the bath, so it was DEFINITELY in need of a good cleaning! Haha.

Trevor's favorite thing to do is play sports and luckily his teacher strongly believes that any sugary treat like muffins or cookies should be followed by a good long outside recess. Smart woman! So Trevor was over the moon excited to get to play basketball with me. He and his buddy won 80 something to my measly 52 points. Somehow their baskets all counted as 3 pointers and mine were just 2 pointers! LOL

Best Mom Ever

Hi friends! It's the 10th of the month and that means it's time for a new Diva Inspirations Challenge. We're taking a break from hopping this month, but still have a deliciously pink challenge for you!

For my card, I used the new Favorite Mom digi, printing on laser paper and then coloring with copic markers. I added gel pen accents and did a lot of fussy cutting.  The sentiment is cut with the square from the Lacey Frames die set.

For my splash of pink, I took a dictionary tag and sponged and spritzed with distress oxide inks until I got the look I was going for.  I added a bit of copic marker to the vellum on the butterfly, then finished off with a chicken wire embossed background and some wide washi tape, trimmed with the die cuts from the Lacey Trim Duo.

Havana Birthday Wishes

Hi friends! I hope the week is treating you right so far. It's a busy one around here with Teacher Appreciation week activities, the school spring performance and separate Mother's Day celebrations in the boys' classrooms. All super fun things, but juggling everything is becoming quite the balancing act.

I snuck in a little craft time yesterday to finish a card that's been half done for about a week. I had colored the floral cup from the new Favorite Mom digi with copic markers and cut with a stitched circle die.  The flowers from the same digi were also colored and fussy cut.  I was pleasantly surprised to see my coloring matched some of the papers in the beautiful new Havana collection from Prima.

I layered these pieces on a small white doily die cut, then stamped and embossed the birthday sentiment from the Sentimental Wishes stamp set on a Lacey Frames die cut. This is layered onto an even larger doily die cut, then I accented with some white Nuvo drops. 

To tie in the colors of the paper a bit more, I added some sponging around the pink and aqua papers with distress ink, then finished off with a white taffeta double bow.

A Little Bit Shabby

Hi friends! Welcome to another week. It was a whirlwind of a weekend for us with parties and events galore. And this morning I'm definitely feeling like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend! {grin} Can you relate?

Today I'm popping in to share another shabby little card I made with the new Favorite Mom digi. I chose the Cherry Blossom collection of papers from Prima, then colored the flowers with Copics to match, then fussy cut to my little fingers' content. I love this sentiment, one of encouragement and admiration for a special someone in your life.

I distressed a bunch of the edges, added a paper doily, then built a spray of flowers with the fussy cut images, sprinkled with a few paper flowers and flourish die cuts. I finished off with a few splatters of white India ink.

Elegant Mother's Day

Hi friends! Happy Cinco de Mayo. It's a busy weekend at our house with flag football first thing, then a graduation party for my nephew this afternoon, followed by a 6 year old birthday party tomorrow and a trip to see the grandparents. Not sure much crafting will get done, but I'm sure it will be a fun time, nonetheless.

Anyhow, I'm popping in today with another card I made using the new Favorite Mom digi. I sometimes learn from my mistakes, so this time I was so happy to have remembered to pick my paper BEFORE coloring the images! {grin}

The papers are from the Aryia's Garden collection by BoBunny, and I just loved the soft blush and sage combo, so pulled out Copics to match and started coloring the Mother's Day sentiment and the large and small flowers from the Favorite Mom Digi.  I added a few white gel pen accents, then layered the two separate flowers for some dimension.  The sentiment is cut with a stitched circle die and I matted with a doily die cut.

Then it was just a matter of arranging my papers, adding a scalloped border with the Lacey Trim Duo die set and finishing off with a bit of lace and a satin bow.

Lucky VLV and a New Digi

Hi friends! It's the first Friday of a new month, and I'm excited to bring you my newest Viva la Verve sketch. Our challenge is open to all and there's a prize, so I hope you'll play along with us this month.

Along with a new sketch, there's a new digi in the Verve shop this morning! Can you believe it's already May? This year seems to be flying by. The Favorite Mom DIGITAL Set is perfect for Mother's Day with several meaningful sentiments and a cherry blossom-esque flower.  I say "esque" because I don't believe there are any 6 petaled cherry blossoms in the real world. But if you know me, you know I'm not a realist. I like whimsy and symmetry, so a 6 petaled blossom it is! {grin}

I had so much fun coloring these blossoms and fussy cutting to my heart's content. I layered the two sizes of solo flowers on the larger flower with dimensionals, curling the petals for more depth, then added a few more of the small flowers and leaves to make a little flower spray for the sentiment circle.

I was so excited to color these images, I forgot to pick out papers before hand. So the sifting through paper pads to find something to match the colors I chose was the longest part of the whole cardmaking process! Haha! I finally decided on a fun polka dotted pattern and some black and white scallops. I added the horizontal accents using the Lacey Trim Duo Set to mimic the pattern, then layered everything onto a white panel embossed with large polka dots.
