Slimline Dies Sneak Peek

Hi friends! It's already Day 5 of Sneaky Peek Week for the The Cat's Pajamas release coming September 29! It's filled to the brim with the sassy, whimsical stamps you've come to know and love from TCP, as well as some amazing dies. Today we're sneaking a peek at two wonderful new slimline die sets. If you've been following me lately, you know I'm pretty hooked on slimlines.  It's just fun to create in a different size than I have for the past umpteen years.  {grin}

Today I'm sharing two cards, one using the dies on a traditional A2 card and one using them on a slimline design. I love how versatile they are.  Want to be In it to Win it? Head to my teamies' blogs linked below andleave a little comment love on those posts for a chance to win a Cat Cash gift code to the shop! Sets are available as they are peeked, so if you see a must-have there's no need to wait!

My first card started with the clouds from Slimline Basics. I thought they would make a perfect background for this sweet little fox from the new The World is Yours set. So I colored him up with distress inks, then masked it off to work on the background.  I cut the cloud border from chipboard to give me a sturdy stencil, and stenciled in the clouds with speckled egg, tumbled glass and some white pigment ink.  I then lightly swiped my black soot ink pad across the edges to give a blustery feel to the card.

I cut the sweet little picket fence border from Slimline Suburbs from white cardstock and layered across the card.  The sweet Hello fall sentiment finishes off this fun card.

For my next card, I went a little spooky. If you've been following me for a while, you might know just how creepy I think owls are. So what goes with creepy? A Halloween card! I set out to make a spooky night sky, cutting the clouds from Slimline Basics from gray cardstock and then inking with hickory smoke and pumice stone for a dark to light look. For the background, I did a little ink blending with mustard seed, shaded lilac, and wilted violet distress inks.

The Stitched Owl is a new die cut, perfect for paper piecing.  I cut him once from black cardstock and once from white cardstock, then pieced together, coloring the beak and claws orange and his belly grey.  To give a little variation in color I smudged some white pigment ink around his eye panel. He's sitting atop that little picket fence from the Slimline Suburbs set. I stenciled on the bats using the Neighboohood Stencilz and some black glitter paste, then finished off with a sentiment from the previously released Hey Boo set.

Alrighty, thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to see what my other teamies are sharing today. Leave a little love at each of their blogs today for a chance to win the drawing! Check out all the details on the TCP Blog.
