November My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Hi friends! The first Monday of the month is definitely my most favorite Monday! That means it's time to kick-off another FABULOUS My Monthly Hero release. The November kit has a super fun DIY holiday vibe. A fabulous collection of add-ons complements this release beautifully,  so be sure to check them all out in the shop!

If you've been hopping along, you should have arrived from Jessica Frost-Ballas' blog. Your next hop stop after this will be Laurie Willison's blog. The entire hop list can be found later in this post.

GIVEAWAY:
Hero Arts is generously giving away a fabulous prize for a lucky commenter along the hop.  Leave a little love in the comments section for all these amazing artists and if your name is drawn you'll receive a $50 gift card to Hero ArtsEnter by Sunday, November 10th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

My first card is a fun little shaker card featuring the November MMH Kit. I started by cutting the Doorway Fancy Die from pebble cardstock.  I cut the door off and then started coloring the bows and greenery with alcohol markers.  Next I masked off the door frame and windows and rubbed some black artist pastels over the grey for a worn look.  I then used a white pastel and a white gel pen to color in the door frame and the snow on the ground, masking off the little rug. I cut the panel again from white cardstock and then colored the pieces for the lamp and window yellow to in-lay.

Next I stamped the welcome rug and the tree, cat, and santa hat images, colored and then cut with coordinating dies from the kit. While I was die cutting, I also cut the fancy wreath and topiary dies and then colored to accent the doorway.

I created a shaker, putting parchment paper down as the backdrop, then layering the tree image and adding a sentiment from the May Your Home Be Filled with Joy add-on set. I added some micro beads, sequins and stars, then glued everything down to finish things off.

My next card is a bit on the simpler side, but I love the way it turned out. I blended blue hawaii and splash reactive inks onto white cardstock, then splattered with white glimmer metalllic ink and embossed a sentiment from the main kit in white in the top corner.

Next I cut two separate panels from the Tri-fold Edge Winter Pine Fancy Dies, and layered them over the background, popping the front panel up on a foam sheet to add some depth. Easy peasy!

I LOVE to give gift cards for the holidays (probably because I love to receive them!), so I was so excited to see the Gift Card Holder Fancy Dies in this month's release! I had a little fun with color, going a bit non-traditional for this trio of gift card holders. I love Snarky Christmas Messages add-on and couldn't resist making a few tags to dress up the gift card holder with it.

These sentiments fit perfectly in the frames from the Holiday Meal Stamp & Cut, so I began by coloring white cardstock in a rainbow of colors with alcohol markers. Next I embossed the sentiments in white and then die cut.  The smallest circle die in the Circles Infinity Die Set was perfect for adding a hole to the top of each tag to feed the twine and jingle bells through. Love how these turned out!

My final creation for today is a more traditional Christmas card. I fell in love with the Decorative Poinsettia Frame Stamp & Cut when I opened my box, and couldn't wait to color in these beautiful images!

I colored in traditional reds and greens with alcohool makrers and then die cu, popping up the frame on foam tape over some designer paper and accenting with a gingham bow and some more stamped and die cut images.
