A Good Day

Hi friends! We had a delightfully fun long weekend with friends, family, and a good dose of Go Nuts for Donuts. Which left me craving donuts and coffee. So today, I'm sharing a little card with both of these things!

I started with the sweet l'il coffee and donuts image from the You + Me stamp set. I colored with Copics and then fussy cut the image. I wanted to use the it's a good day to have a good day sentiment from the Sentimental Wordfetti set. This set is the July Stamp of the Month and is a free gift with a $60 order during the month of July. With 30 small sentiments, this versatile set is quickly becoming a new fave of mine! I cut the sentiment with a craft knife and a Cut-Align and then used the Cut-Align to fold the corners into a 3D banner.

Next I moved on to the background. I've been wanting to use this Delightfully Delicate Background stamp for a while. I love the pattern and have so many ideas for it!  I stamped it in watermark ink and started blending reactive inks onto the background. The watermark ink wasn't appearing as dark as I wanted it, so I quickly added some clear embossing powder to the stamped image and embossed the rest of the background. I then continued blending the background with pool and blue hawaii reactive inks and then splattered on a bit of water to lift up some ink and make things look not so "perfect". I backed my fussy cut image with a vellum circle matted with a black circle frame, then popped the banner up over it to finish things off.
