June Sweet 'n Sassy and Shimmerz Releases

Hi friends! It's the first day of a brand new month and that means it's time for fresh new products from some of my favorite companies. I used to think that creating for my one company's releases was a lot of work, but now that I design cards for several companies, I have a much greater understanding and respect for what it takes to be a designer on multiple teams! Juggling all the deadlines can definitely get tricky, but the product is all so stinking awesome I just can't ever say no! Ever have that problem? 😆

So today is officially release day for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and for the June Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz. Both releases are awesome, with so many must haves! Seriously.. the colors.... the stamps! I combined them both for today's project, a duo of cards.



It's probably not much of a surprise that I reached for the blues in the June Missy Whidden Color Kit first. This Hint of Mint spritz is fabulous and a new color that's exclusive to this month's kit. I spritzed the Hint of Mint and the Chance of Rain over a stencil to get the background, using a separate color on each diagonal and letting them mingle together in the middle. By the way, these two colors make THE most gorgeous water scenes, you'll see some of that later in the month! The sentiment is from the gorgeous new Hymn Word Art set. I love the classic hymns and the lettering style on this set of stamps is just fabulous. I stamped it with distress oxide ink and embossed in clear on a panel I had lightly washed with the Hint of Mint Spray.


I did the same technique for the background and sentiment on the pink card with the Pink Caviar Shimmerz and Dear John Letter Inklingz. The flowers on both cards are from the ADORABLE new Mer-Mazing set. I am so in love with this new set by a new illustrator for SNSS. To change things up I chose a different orientation for the two cards, adding some lace trims and colored cardstock to finish things off.
