Greatest Day on Earth

Hi friends! Last month Shimmerz Paints debuted their first Color Kitz and they sold like hotcakes. This month they went above and beyond, creating THREE different kit offerings, so there's something for everyone. All three launch this morning, and one of those kitz just happens to be a card making kit! Hooray!

Shimmerz is partnering with other small business owners through their kits to help promote and strengthen each other. This kit includes an adorable Life is a Circus stamp set and coordinating die set from Pink & Main, three delightful colors of Creameez and a lovely grey Spritz. Here are my swatches from the kit. Love these colors together! The kit is priced at a 20% discount over buying the projects individually. We recently attended a birthday party for a two year old and this was the perfect occasion to test out this kit! I started by painting horizontal stripes on a panel of watercolor paper in each of the kit colors (Great Fruit, Lettuce Get Together and Ride the Tide), bookending the top and bottom of the panel with Granny Grey Spritz. When this was dry, I cut with a rounded rectangle die and then matted with grey cardstock.

The darling monkey image is stamped in Copic and water safe ink and then colored with a mixture of Copic markers and the Creameez colors from the kit. I cut this sweet little monkey out with the coordinating die and then popped him up on the striped panel with foam adhesive.

The sentiment, have the greatest day on earth, seemed very fitting for a birthday, so I heat embossed it in white on grey cardstock and then trimmed into a banner shape to place across the panel. I then dry embossed the card base with an embossing folder and layered it all together.
