Hero Arts 2019 Catalog Blog Hop

It's time to celebrate the Hero Arts 2019 Catalog release! There are SO many wonderful new products, and I'm so excited to be joining in the blog hop to showcase the new goodies! Be sure to leave some comment love along this hop because Hero Arts is giving away four (4!) $50 shopping sprees, drawn from comments left on all of the blogs along the hop. How awesome is that? Comments close on Sunday February 17 at 11:59pm PST and winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.
If you've been hopping along, then you just came from the amazing Jennifer Mcguire's blog. If not, the entire hop list can be found later in this post. You definitely don't want to miss a thing! As usual, I couldn't stop creating, so this post is going to be a long one. Grab a cup of something awesome and let's talk stamping. 😀

My first card combines the fabulous Mail Jumble Background Cling with the new Hero Greetings Sending Smiles sentiment set. This sweet little scene of envelopes and mailing supplies makes my heart happy and I couldn't wait to use it with the previously released Peek-A-Boo Doors Fancy Die. I stamped the background in intense black, then watercolored with Leaf, Indigo and Deep Ocean liquid watercolors. When this was dry, I cut it with the Peek-A Boo Doors die and adhered to a card base.

Next I stamped the background again and fussy cut and colored just a few of the pieces to add to the hello there sentiment strip. I love the way the popped open doors add dimension without adding any bulk to your card. Although you can only see a bit of ink peeking out, I stamped little hearts inside each of the open doors. The hearts are from the Hello Stamp & Cut set. I love the little surprise element when the recipient opens the doors.

Next I moved on to the new Sky's the Limit Balloons stamp set. I love these vintage looking balloons and uplifting sentiments. Yesterday was my Dad's birthday and I needed a masculine birthday card. These balloons were just perfect paired with a couple birthday sentiments from existing sets.

I stamped and colored two of the balloon shapes and two baskets, then cut with the coordinating frame cuts. While I was at it, I stamped and die cut a few clouds and a bird from the set as well.  I added a few grey lowlights to the clouds, then used the Snow & Froth Technique kit to add a little puffiness to the clouds. I thought the Arch Pattern background from the February release looked like a windy sky, so stamped it in Cornflower ink on the new Periwinkle Hero Hues cardstock. This cardstock is thick and scrumptious and stamps beautifully!

Next I stamped the make a wish sentiment from the Wish I May stamp & cut and cut it out with the balloon die.  I layered it all together, adding the bird with foam adhesive and a few little bits of bling.  I then embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment from Many Everyday Messages in white on Pitch Black Hero Hues Cardstock and popped it up across the bottom of the card.

Next up, I pulled out the beautiful New Day Butterflies set.  I stamped the butterflies in intense black and then colored with Copic markers and cut with the coordinating frame cuts. I had been making some backgrounds with purple and indigo watercolor inks, and this particular one looked like a cloudy sky to me, so I thought it would be perfect to pair these lovely little butterflies with some sentiments from the Sky's the Limit Balloons set.

I stamped the sky's the limit directly onto the background in intense black and then embossed the rise to new heights sentiment in white on black cardstock and popped up on foam tape. I adhered the butterflies down at the centers so the wings could pop up just a bit.

While I had those indigo and purple liquid watercolor inks out, I watercolored a couple more of the butterflies adding a few accents with a white gel pen and the crystal clear lacquer pen. I stamped the sentiment from New Day Butterflies  on a portion of one of my backgrounds and picked a similar smooshed background for the card panel. Then I layered it all together, adding in some upholstery thread and some holeless sequins for embellishment.

The next card uses the Beautiful Day Agapanthus. I just love these flowers! I stamped the cluster of flowers two times across a white card panel, adding in one of the single flowers to round things out.  I then also stamped the leaves, stems and single flowers in a little arrangement on a square panel of cardstock. I colored everything with Copics, accenting with a white gel pen.  I then matted the square in black cardstock and stamped the beautiful day sentiment directly on the panel.

A few butterflies from the New Day Butterflies set somehow fluttered their way onto this card, and I finished off the card with another sentiment from the Hero Greetings Sending Smiles sentiment set and a touch of bling.

You made it to the end of my post! Thumbs up for being awesome! 👍 I actually have a couple more cards to share with the sets I showcased today, but I'll post them later and let you get on your merry way. Don't forget to leave some comment love along the hop for a chance to win one of the $50  shopping sprees!

Julee, such an amazing array of cards that I don't know if I have enough words to express my appreciation of them all! You've been a busy lady, especially with twin boys. We have identical twin boys as well, but they are now 45 & fathers of 3 children each. Which makes me just a tad older... :) I love your first card as I worked for Canada Post for 22 years & people don't write enough letters or send enough cards anymore. It's such a moment of happiness when I find a personal piece of mail in my box. I'd really like to have the stamp & die that allows the env. to open. Too cute! I think the 2 backgrounds you created & used with the butterflies are gorgeous. I could go on, but I've already said enough. Thanks so much!
