So Very Happy

Hi friends!  Happy Friday!  It's time for a brand new Viva la Verve sketch and this one comes from the lovely Stacey. I'm triple dipping this one again with my final entry in the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop and inspiration from the Butterfly Effect Card Concept challenge.

I love a skewed panel or two and a half circle is always the perfect place for a doily, so that's where I started.  I had a piece of card stock, I had already mixed-media-ified with tissue paper, distress inks, translucent embossing paste, stencils and the To Go embossing folder, so I decided to use it here and add a section of a pale yellow doily over the side.  I glued it down with matte medium, then shaded with some Pitt big brush pens to make it stand out a bit better.  I matted with basic grey and roughed up the edges.

The butterfly paper is from the Black & White Timeless collection by KaiserCraft.  Don't you think that inspiration photo is gorgeous?  I just had to watercolor the butterflies with mustard seed and mermaid lagoon inks and a water brush!  I cut out a few of the extra butterflies from the paper and used them to pop up on my sentiment panel. They're water colored as well, then I used some microglaze to set the colors and covered with glossy accents and a thin sprinkling of glitter. The sentiment is from the Wonderful Marvelous set, and I thought it was so perfect for a coffee theme, because it is SO true!  LOL  The sentiment is stamped on a die cut from the Cupcake Frame Die Set.

In the bottom corner I added a couple of to go cups using the releasing next week Get Together set (one of our prizes up for grabs for those linking up to the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop) and the coordinating Cup of Cheer Die Set.  I stamped them in lost lagoon and daffodil delight, then water colored with water pencils.  My final touch was to add some seam binding ribbon up top.  I couldn't decide on a color, so decided to dye my own to match the card.  I used the white ribbon from our Signature Ribbon Collection and dipped it in some mermaid lagoon and mustard seed distress ink I had rubbed on a craft sheet and then spritzed with water.  I got it good and inked up, crumpling it in a ball for some crinkles, then dried it with a heat gun and sponged a bit more of the mustard seed ink on it in places to bring out a bit more of the yellow.  All in all, a super fun project start to finish.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Our New Release Spotlight Hops start next week with blog hops each day Monday through Saturday.  There will be lots of eye candy and a bit of blog candy too, so be sure to come check it out!

Simply lovely. The colors are so calm and serene, the textures and layers work so well together, and the small elements compliment your larger ones perfectly. I think my favorite part is your hand-colored seam binding; it's just amazing. One of my favorites in the gallery. Bev
