July WMS Blog Waltz

Hi there, friends!  Happy Saturday!  Today I'm participating in the July Waltzingmouse Blog Hop.  You can find the link list of waltzers on this thread in the Waltzingmouse forum, or head over to Claire's blog for all the details.  This month's theme was to use blue and green.  Since I've been on a Wild Wasabi kick, the green was a no-brainer.  I chose a light aqua and a neutral of Early Espresso to complete the combo.

As soon as I saw the first peeks of the Rescue Remedies set, I knew I had to have it.  I'm a big fan of vintage labels, and just thought this set was way too fun to pass up. For my project, I decided to decorate some little treat bags to fill with some homemade molasses sugar cookies.  YUM!

I started by stamping the labels, then cutting out with the coordinating Labels 4 Nestabilities.  To add a little punch, I layered some pinking circles diecuts behind the labels, then attached to some brown May Arts ribbon.  I stamped some of the coordinating elements from the set in early espresso, tumbled glass and wild wasabi directly onto the glassine treat bags, then just wrapped the ribbon and label around the bag and tied to close.  You can slide the ribbon on and off to get the cookies out.  For the sweet confections one, I added a little tag to the top using the smallest frame from the Very Vintage Labels No. 4, then inked up just the bottom saying from the Superior Hand Baked label and stamped inside the frame, then added a little stamped flower.  Here's a close up of each treat bag.  {You can click each photo for a bigger image.}

Okay, that's my little waltz for today.  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

I love projects like this - they're my favorite! I am wanting to use glassine bags for a halloween project - and I love how you stamped on them. Did you use Craft Ink, or Classic pads? These are gorgeous, and no doubt the recipients will just love them!
