May the Road

Hi y'all! Happy Saturday, Happy May and Happy {inter}National Scrapbooking Day! I just love any day that's set aside to celebrate crafting! I may not be much of a scrapbooker, but that doesn't mean I don't like shopping! LOL And through the magic of online shopping, I've already hit a few sales today!  :)  And since everyone loves a sale, Verve has a little free shipping offer this weekend, too.  If you use gift code: INSDFREE at checkout, you'll receive free shipping on any order $24 and over (US & Canada only). Code is valid through Monday, May 3.

Okay, on with today's project.  I was snooping around at the Craft Warehouse last weekend when I spied these beautiful frames.  They're black an distressed and have these fabulous flowers and pearls, so I just had to pick a few up to make some gifts.

For this one, I pulled out the Blessings set, because this blessing has a special meaning to the the friend I was making it for.  I stamped the sentiment in Walnut Stain and embossed in clear on Roadshow designer paper from Fancy Pants.  Next I embossed the flourish from blessings at the top and bottom with white embossing powder and then colored lightly over it with the Pearl White Copic, so it wasn't so stark white.  Then to finish, I changed the ribbon at the top (it was a dark olive) and then colored a few big pearls aqua with a Copic marker and placed inside the three little empty ornamental buds.  For the final touch, I coated all the metal leaves with some Smooch Pearlized Top Coat.  Wish the photo showed some of the sparkle, but hangy glass things are SOOOOO hard to photograph.

That's it for today!  Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!
