The Goodness of Life

Hi all! It's Tuesday and today we're continuing our Mojo Turns 100 Celebration with a special sketch designed by Maria Gurnsey. Be sure to hop on over to the mojo blog for the sketch.

Aside from a brief 15 minute project this weekend, I haven't had a chance to stamp for over a week and I was so READY to get back to my studio last night. Laurie sent me these awesome Nesting Labels cookie cutter dies from Quickutz and I've been so excited to play with them. I ran the die through with cream and chocolate card stock, so I could have a little mat. Next up, I knew I wanted a warm, distressed feel with lots of sponging, so I stamped the scrolly background from Bountiful Backgrounds in Champagne VersaMark and then sponged all around the edges with first Antique Linen and then Vintage Photo distress ink. I'm not sure you can see it in the photo so I've added a little close-up. I just love the way the versamark lightly resists the ink for a subtle pattern in the sponging.

Next I stamped the coffee mug from Delightful & Delicious on cream in Riding Hood Red ink and colored with a Ruby Red marker and Vintage Photo ink. I added the little flourish from the A Cup of Life set for the steam, then cut out, popped up and added Cinnamon Stickles and a coat of Diamond Glaze for a glossy look. The sentiment from Delightful & Delicious is stamped in Vintage Photo ink.

After I'd finished with the panel, I set a jumbo eyelet in one end and threaded the wide striped chocolate ribbon through. The chocolate, riding hood red, and cream panels are all letterpress ink debossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder and Vintage Photo ink. I added a little more sponging to the edges of each panel to add some depth. Then I just glued everything together and added a few pearls to the top and bottom. They seemed a little too white, so I colored them with a Copic marker and called it done!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous day!

I love the color combination. It looks so "rich." Probably as rich as the coffee.

I love all of your cards you are great! I have seen you mention letterpress ink debossed a few times but I do not know how you do this. Are there any tutorials? Thank you.
