This card set started with a large scrap of watercolor paper sitting on my desk.  I recently picked up a couple gelatos on clearance at Michaels. They weren't colors I typically use, so I knew I didn't already have them in my stash. Since I hadn't used gelatos in a while, I decided to just play and see where it took me.

I started by making circles all over my paper with the darker green, then overlapping circles of the lighter color in between, making a big grid of circles all across the paper. I then pulled out a waterbrush and blended out the darker circles, then the lighter circles and added some more streaks of gelatos in the empty spots and then blended wiht a baby wipe.

I then cut my panel into 3.25 x 2.25" panels. I then lined them up together on my mat, and pulled out some stamps to add some texture. I used the script from Texture Tiles 1 and the distressed plaid from Texture Tiles 3, stamping them randomly across the panels in leaf green archival ink. I love these texture sets so much!

Next I pulled out the Hymn Word Art set and stamped and embossed a different saying from the set onto each panel. This set is beautiful and I know I'm going to be reaching for it again and again! I started with white, but realized that it kind of got lost in the green, so switched to black for the other two panels. From there, I sponged the edges with peeled paint and black soot distress oxides.  I used a rough mask of copy paper to cover up my stamping and then splattered black ink all around the edges. To finish off the panels, I added a few pen accents where needed and matted with black card stock.

When these were done, I pulled out the Peony Cluster set and stamped the large peony image. I colored the blooms with Copics, then watercolored the leaves with the gelatos I had used on the hymn panels. I then fussy cut the images, cutting the flowers apart, then arranging them with the hymn panels for a bit of accent.

To finish things off, I embossed some diagonal stripes onto stone cardstock and glued it all down.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
