TCP May New Release Blog Hop

Hi friends! It's release day at The Cat's Pajamas! We're hopping along one last time to celebrate this fabulous new release. Come along for some fresh inspiration with all the new products that are available NOW in the shop!

If you've been hopping along, you should have arrived from Christine's blog. If not, head over to Melissa's blog to start from the beginning.  I've got a few fun cards to share today, so grab a cuppa something awesome and settle in. When you're done here, hop on over to see what Nancy is sharing today. If a link goes amiss along the way, the full hop list can be found on the TCP Blog

My first card for today pairs the beautiful Scripted Sentiments set with the Birdcage Die. As soon as I saw this die, I knew I wanted to break out the Prima waxes to give it an aged metallic look.  I cut the cage from black cardstock a few times, using old silver wax to add the metallic finish to the top one, then layering together with acetate and foam to create a shaker to house a few holeless sequins.  The birdies are cut from paper I dipped into wilted violet and worn lipstick distress inks.  I stamped the beautiful you are in my heart sentiment from Scripted Sentiments in black, then cut with the Scalloped Duo Die, framing it using the same wax technique to match the birdcage.  I selected a dreamy background paper, then finished off with a bit of lace and a Nested Hearts die cut to match.

For my next card, I went with a cleaner look, focusing on the fabulous new Farm Duo die. I love this die, which can easily be paper pieced, but I decided to keep it all together and just do a little good old fashioned Copic coloring on it. Had so much fun coloring and was singing about purple mountain majesties all the while!  I layered the the outer die with the sweet faux stitching detailing with the outer die from the Round Bubbles Duo Die and cut from red cardstock for the fun frame.  I then layered this onto a die cut from the Star Rosette CutUps. I really wanted that die to be the focus, so kept the layout simple, just stamping a sentiment and a couple flowers from the NEW Hay Neighbor set in red.

That darling Hay Neighbor set was still calling my name, so I had to make one more card for today using it. The images in this set have coordinating dies. You can buy the stamps and dies together in the Hay Neighbor Bundle to save a little moulah! I had to color up this sweet little farmer carrying his garden bounty. The set has a beautiful background with a circle center that I just loved, so I stamped it up in barely there amalgam ink on crumb cake paper, then cut with the Framed Up 2 die set. I then cut the circle frame in Framed Up 2 from white cardstock and then ran it through again with the outer die from the Farm Duo die, to get a sweet little frame to pop up over the stamped background.  Then I added my little farmer and a couple flowers to the frame.  The sentiment is stamped onto a banner strip I cut using the banner die from Framed Up 2. Love this versatile die set!

Well, that's all for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you've enjoyed all the peeks and inspiration with this fabulous new release. I've linked my supplies, plus the  entire release (and free cutting files) below for you, so be sure to check it out.

Next up on the hop is the fabulous Nancy.
