Seasons Givings Blog Hop 2019

Hi there! It's Seasons Givings Blog Hop time again and I'm so excited to be participating again this year. A big shout-out to Latisha Yoast, who does all the behind the scenes work to put on this annual blog hop. The mission for this blog hop is a chance to give back and thank our awesome readers. Each and every stop on the hop is doing their own crafty giveaway! How cool is that?

I've been blogging here for just shy of 12 years and am so amazed that so many of you are still here having your morning coffee or tea and reading along with me! It's been such a blessing to me to get to share my art here. Thank you so much for your comments and support! My days are a lot quieter when the boys are in school (no complaints there), but it is so nice to see a comment every now and then and know I'm not just blabbing to myself. 😀

2018 brought some major changes in my crafting life as I closed my stamp business in June. I'm learning how to stamp for fun again and enjoying my time on a few fabulous design teams. I am currently keeping myself busy designing for My Monthly Hero by Hero Arts, Shimmerz Paints, and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I've been so blessed by these generous companies and was even able to have one of my digital designs released in clear stamp form by Shimmerz. I've included it in my giveaway, along with lots of other goodies.

My  Giveaway - winner must have a US shipping address
Includes a USPS Flat Rate box filled with papercrafting goodness. Everything shown in the picture, plus a few items that were MIA at picture taking time. A fun assortment of stamp sets, dies, paper pads, stencils, and mini ink pads, sure to inspire some creativity in 2019!

To be eligible for the drawing: leave a comment below with a book, movie, TV show, YouTube video, etc. that sparked your interest in 2018. You're welcome to list more than one if you want!

Comment deadline for the prize drawing is 8:00 pm Mountain on Tuesday, January 8.  Please check back on Jan. 9 to see if you are a winner.

The card I'm sharing today uses the Mojo Monday 506 sketch. If you hadn't heard, I recently rebooted the Mojo Monday sketch challenge right here on my blog at a more relaxed pace. No design team, just you, me and the sketches! I post every other Monday and the linkup is open for two weeks. I'd love for you to play along if you have the time.

My card was inspired by the beautiful Midnight Garden collection from Prima. I paired it with some old and new favorites from The Cat's Pajamas to make a soft and sophisticated all occasion card. I first blended some worn lipstick distress oxide on smooth Bristol with these fabulous makeup brushes. Love how easily they blend! I then stamped the beautiful silhouette flowers from the Simple Blooms in the same color ink on the background panel and embossed it in black on the focal panel.  I used the Stitched Beautiful die to accent the panel, cutting twice from black cardstock, layering together and then embossing with Versamark and sparkle embossing powder.

My horizontal border element is probably my all time favorite border die, the Icing CutUps. I accented with a bit of ebony nuvo drops. To finish off, I added black mats and a panel of this beautiful designer paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you're new to me feel free to click the link in the sidebar  to subscribe by email. Or you can keep tabs on my creations as Vervegirl on Instagram or on my  YouTube channel (I'm hoping to start posting some cardmaking videos this year). Okay, on with the hop. All of the amazing companies and designers below have giveaways on their blogs today. Hop along and get inspired for the new year! If you're following the list, your next stop is the incredible Cindy Lawrence.

Affiliate links are used where possible. When you order from them, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you and you receive happy mail! Win, win! Thanks so much for clicking on my links to shop. 💙

I joined a virtual book club late in 2018 and was challenged to read The Book of Essie. Well, once I started, I couldn't put it down. It has inspired me to read more this year

I need to find my mojo. It has left the building. Love that card. It is so pretty. I loved Jack Ryan on Amazon. I couldn't stop watching it. But if you are in the mood for something sweet watch the Netflix series about Dogs. It is very heartwarming. Thanks for the chance. Checking in from California

Oops. Forgot about what I was supposed to comment on. I've watched a lot of movies and YouTube videos and read allot of books in 2018. I think what Sparks my interest the most are the you tube videos. I found a hot in face painting and acrylic pouring through those videos as well as enjoying all the papercrafting videos and mixed media projects. I even tried my hand at some of them.

Oh my, this is a hard question! I follow tons of crafters on youtube and love watching cardmaking videos, but I feel like anyone I know about, you probably already know about. This may seem kind of odd for the question, but I love Postmodern Jukebox. They take modern songs and do them in older styles, and something about taking the resources we have and then doing them in your own style really speaks to me. Also, I love their music. I hope you have a wonderful 2019!

Happy new year to you and thanks for offering this amazing prize package. Glad to see Mojo Monday alive again and your lovely card. I picked up one of my daughter's library books recently and I was surprised that I became so engrossed in the story, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. I'm hoping she gets more by the same author.

I'm so glad Mojo Monday is back. I'm trying to stick to my new part-time work schedule and will make the time to participate. It forces me to dig stuff out of the stash I haven't used yet or in a long time. 2018 was inspired by Fancy Nancy book series. My 6 year old loves it and I love that she wants to use the "fancy" big words in the books. Plus we now must "fancy" up all of our craft creations like Nancy.

I am very happy to see Mojo Monday back, I am excited to play along. One TV show DH and I both enjoy together is Dancing with the Stars, some seasons are better than others but we are inspired by those who move out of the comfort zone and strive to improve at a new skill. Plus DH will sit and watch it with me without flipping through all the channels, LOL. Thanks for the very generous giveaway!

Hello Julee. I want to thank you for all the creativie inspiration you've provided us and continue to provide. I'm so sorry you ended up having to close your stamp company. I cannot imagine how hard of a decision that had to have been. They say when one dor closes another opens. I'm happy for you, that youve been able to rediscover stamping for fun. It's so important to be able to do something we enjoy. I admit, I've been watching a ton of Hallmark Christmas movies this year. My husband has struggled with his health this past year, so its really helped remind me to enjoy whatever time you have and to make the most of it and enjoy your family. Happy 2019 Lady!
