December My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi friends! It's time once again for the  new My Monthly Hero release at Hero Arts! As usual, there's a chance to win this month's DREAMY release (or equivalent product) for commenting along the December My Monthly Hero Blog Hop. I had so much fun with this fairy release and I can't wait to share some of my projects with you. The ideas just keep coming for this kit, so you're sure to see more fairy goodness from me in the coming weeks!

The My Monthly Hero kits are only available while supplies last and tend to sell out quickly. Subscribe to the monthly kit to never miss out! Or if you're a subscriber, you can add any of the wonderful add-ons to your shipment with no additional shipping charges by ordering them on your account before Dec. 6!

If you're just popping in, the hop started over on the Hero Arts Blog. If you've been hopping along already, you should have arrived from the AMAZING Lydia Fiedler's blog.

Now, let's get on with my creations for today! As per usual, I just couldn't stop creating, so you might want to grab a cuppa something de-lish, because this post might just go on forever! {grin} My first card pairs one of the fairies in the December MMH main kit with the previously released Coffee Cup Tags Frame Cuts for a sweet little Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop entry.

As soon as I saw this dreamy little fairy, I immediately thought of resting her on top of a coffee cup. I could just imagine visions of coffee dancing through her head!  I pulled out some Santa Baby papers and ephemera and got to work.  I started by cutting the pieces for the cup from the Coffee Cup Tags Frame Cuts. I scored a little line across the white lid for a bit of dimension, then sponged the outer edges of the papers with cotton candy and silver inks.  For the silver bands, I laid down some 1/8" double sided adhesive and then embossed with silver embossing powder. The sentiment is from the darling Wish I May Stamp & Cut add-on and also embossed in silver.

Next I embossed the fairy from the main kit in in silver and colored with Copics.  I added some sparkle to her with a crystal clear lacquer pen and a touch of glitter.  Next I added some ephemera pieces from the Santa Baby line and tucked in a bow and some iridescent bead trim.  To finish things off, I added a little border cut with the beautiful Decorative Edge Fancy Die.

Next up, I used the same sleeping fairy image on this fun background. I started by dripping drops of purple, pink and white liquid watercolors on a piece of cardstock then spraying with water to get some variations in color.  When that was dry, I went in with some blending brushes and cotton candy and passion flower inks to blend it out a bit more.  Next I stamped some of the dandelion images from the kit randomly in grape juice ink across the bottom.  I then stamped the large dandelion bloom twice in grape juice and then blended with passion flower and grape juice inks.  I fussy cut these out, using a crystal clear lacquer pen and glitter to accent the flower centers, then added my sweetly colored fairy to her resting place.  I finished by stamping the sentiment from the kit in grape juice and embossing with Sparkle embossing powder.

Next up is this sweet little field mouse, who's making a wish.  I found a scrap of designer paper in my stash that seemed like the perfect backdrop and sponged with a bit of cotton candy ink.  I then masked off the outside of the circle and used the dandelion images from the kit to randomly stamp in cotton candy.  The mouse is colored with copics and cut with one of the frame cuts included in the kit.  I pulled out some of the pearlescent cardstock in the kit and cut a couple dandelions with the Dandelion Paper Layering set. A stitched bow, some nuvo crystal drops and a bit of glitter finish things off.

This little fairy princess was just asking for a shaker card, so I had to oblige.  I started with a background of Moon Child paper from Prima. I stamped and cut the fairy, paper piecing her skirt and watercoloring her bodice and hair with purple liquid watercolors.  The shaker portion is the fabulous new Starlight Starbright Bold Prints background stamped in grape juice ink.  I then used the Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies to cut the window portion and finished off with a sequin mix, a bit of glitter and a couple leftover iridescent starts from a previous kit.

My final card for today is pretty simple, but I just love how it turned out. I paired a piece of Moon Child designer paper with the gorgeous new Fairy Window Fancy Die. I really wanted black sparkly paper, but I didn't have any and wasn't about to brave the snow to get some. So I did something even better! I cut the die from black cardstock and then coated with versamark and embossed with Sparkle embossing powder! Oh boy does it shimmer! I finished off with a sentiment from the new Wish I Might set. I used my MISTI to emboss in both black detail and then sparkle embossing powder for extra sparkle!

I hope you've enjoyed my creations and gained a bit of inspiration for using your own kit! The add-ons this month are simply beautiful, as well, and I'll have more cards later this week sharing my projects with them. Hope to see you back here again soon!

I love your cards! The one that made me giggle was the fairy sleeping on the coffee cup! It's a beautiful Christmas card, but funny as well! My fairy would be sleeping on a pile of doughnuts or cheesecake! I left a comment at the Hero Arts blog saying that I think that this stamp set could be really versatile. You could totally make Christmas, Valentine's, of course birthday cards! It's an awesome stamp set! Thanks for sharing your amazing creativity!
