Season's Givings Blog Hop

Welcome to the New Year!  I love that Anne of Green Gables quote, "Tomorrow is a brand new day with no mistakes in it yet." I love a fresh start and what better clean slate than a brand new year?  To celebrate this day I'm participating once again in the Season's Giving Blog Hop.

I am so thankful to all of you who have stuck by me over the past few years as I laughingly attempt to balance being a mom to toddler twins, running a full-time business in a part-time way, being creative, coordinating multiple challenges and blogging.  Some days I feel like I'm just all washed up and have nothing more to give. And then I log on and see a sweet comment from one of you that turns my day around.  Every kindness matters.  Truly.  As I struggle through hard days and tough times I have found how true that is in my own life.  One simple kindness can change a whole lot. A WHOLE lot.

I'm striving to take more time each day to make sure those around me know that I appreciate their efforts. To say thanks and comment on posts and do all the things that my struggle with depression has made so difficult these past three years. So thanks so much for joining this journey with me.  I appreciate each comment on this blog, every card made for one of my challenges, each post made using my stamps and every little note about how you told your friends about Verve or made something amazing and can't wait to share it. Thank YOU!  You may never know how much you have touched my heart.

As a way of saying thanks, I've put together two giveaways for this blog hop.  One is a package of papercrafting goodies.  The other is a gift code to my store, Verve Stamps.  To be eligible for the prize drawings, just leave a comment on this post before 2:00 pm Mountain on Jan. 5.  If you'd like to tell me what you're most looking forward to in 2015, I'd love to hear it.  I personally am so excited that Donna Downey is starting  her Inspiration Wednesday videos again.  Her weekly art journaling videos gave me something to look forward to through the horrific double dose of newborn/colic/acid reflux stage with the twins and I just can't wait for January 7, since this time around I'll hopefully be able to do some art journaling at the same time instead of just watching the videos with a screaming baby in each arm!

Giveaway 1: {winner must have a US shipping address}

Package includes Twitterpated, Calendar Countdown, Wings of Love, No Matter What, Flourished Trim Die and From the Heart Die Set from Verve Stamps and the Teresa Collins Something Wonderful collection: 12x12 papers & stickers, brads, wood chips, buttons, ephemera and washi tape,

Giveaway 2:
 {winner must have a shipping address in one of the countries Verve ships to... Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.}

$50 Gift Code to the Verve Stamps online store.

Comment deadline for prize giveaways is 2:00 pm Mountain on Monday, January 5.
Please check back on Jan. 6 to see if you are a winner.

My card for today is a New Year's card using one of my favorite Verve products from 2014.... the Mask Die Set and coordinating Masquerade set.  I paired it with the happy new year sentiment from Light My World. The masks and handles are die cut in black, then stamped with Versamark and embossed in gold.  For the feathery accent at the bottom I stamped the image repeatedly in black, then lightly outlined sections with a blender pen and dusted some gold embossing powder on and heat set it.  Love the look with some of the black still showing through.  The side accent is a strip of black cardstock with a bit of gold cording wrapped around it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

If you're new and like what you see, you can hit the buttons on the sidebar to find me on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram as well as a subscribe link to this blog.  I also run the Mojo Monday and Viva la Verve sketch challenges, as well as the Verve Stamps Blog.

Next stop on the hop is Michelle Woerner!

That card is beautiful! So impressed with everything you've been balancing - not sure how you've done it! Managing work and kiddos is unbelievably hard! (And mine are 2 yrs apart - not twins!) Love all of your work! Happy New Year!

You are such an incredible artist, and it's so amazing what you do to balance your life. I also battle depression, and crafting and being inspired by other crafters is such an incredible help. I'm not looking forward to any one thing this year, just looking forward to life in general. I just believe that it's going to be a great year!

Wanda Cullen said...

Wow, your card is absolutely stunning! So clean and simple yet so striking! I have certainly appreciated your regular comments on my Verve creations and after taking care of our 3 month old grand-daughter several days and sleepness nights this month, I was reminded of the incredible time that the wee ones can consume! I'm in awe of those of you who have TWO at a time! Last year I looked forward to a cruise and to the birth of Quinn. 2015 is a blank slate for me. I'm going to take a day at a time and see what the year holds.

Thanks Julee for your beautiful stamps and challenges and all that you give.......I wish I could give you a great big hug. This is an awesome year for Kev and I as we have found a beautiful small Church that has just embraced us and I am looking forward to giving more of myself to others where and when I can. I would so love to be able to cook you a casserole and drop it off :) or take the kids to the park..............We so need to love and help one another.

It's great to see Verve continuing to offer such great stamps, I was only yesterday flicking through my little collection as I undertook my annual purge, and have marked quite a few to come back to ASAP for a little stamp time... all the best for 2015!

such gorgeous masks on that card! I adore them. Also those stamp sets you are giving away are just wonderful! Thank you so much.

Julee, thanks for your thoughtful and meaningful post - you do an amazing job of keeping it all going. I know a tiny bit of how difficult that must be as one of my adult children suffers from depression and it's heartbreaking. I most look forward to an answer to my prayers for him in 2015, which is some peace and joy! I ALWAYS stop and look at your work on SCS but just realized I wasn't a blog follower - signing up now! Your card is FABULOUS, so elegant and CAS. Happy new year to you, Julee, xx

Hi Julee! Love your card! The masquerade set is just great and makes for a delightful New Years card--it'll be super for upcoming mardi gras as well--one of the things I love about Verve is the versatility of your products which translates to value and allows for more artistic freedom and expansion. Thanks for being a continuous blessing to this industry, for bringing us your beautiful and unique stamps and for staying true to yourself and to God along the way. It does not go unnoticed and it is much appreciated. You are an inspiration in more ways than one and I'm grateful to know you! Hugs and a very Happy New Year to you and yours!!!

Love your card you shared today, in fact I love all your fantastic creations. You are a great inspiration to so many and I admire you for all you manage to do. I know it can be hectic with twins, but you also run Verve stamps, the blog, the challenges, my goodnes that is a lot. I love using your Verve stamps & dies and participating in the Verve challenges. I look forward to more Verve goodies in the New Year.
I wish you and your family a Blessed and Happy New Year.

Your cards are so beautiful. The mask grabbed my attention. I am pleasantly surprised you know Anne of Green Gables. I live in Ontario, Canada now, (but have a US mailing address--I live on the US border) but spent 9 years living on Prince Edward Island, where the Anne of Green Gables house is. I have visited it many times. It's such a good story. Thank you for the chance to win the prize.

Julee your card is GORGEOUS. Thanks for sharing.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours!
I have often been amazed at how well you keep up with all of your blogs, challenges, design teams, and business stuff all the while raising the two little guys. I suffered from a bout of depression this year due to some work related challenges and can't even imagine trying to accomplish a piece of what you have during that time. Playing along with your challenges has helped me get some of my creative mojo and will to create back. I want to thank you for that.
Please know that all your hard work has not gone unnoticed. I am constantly telling people how much I appreciate that the busy owner of a stamp company takes the time to comment on my posts. I LOVE creating with your stamps and dies and it touches my heart to know that you take the time to check in when you can. I appreciate it a lot and please know those comments have brightened many a gloomy day for me as well.
Please take care of yourself. {BIG HUGS}
Let's see what I am most looking forward to this year is spending more quality time with my husband and daughter. And doing a little crafting therapy and sharing my creations on my blog.
Crafty hugs,

Your blog post has been so inspirational for me. Thank you for sharing, I have been battling with depression myself these past few months and know exactly the feelings that go with it. I admire your courage and pray daily that I can feel the sunshine in my life too. I hope to continue in my faith for the new year and know that the good Lord will give me the strength to persevere and to feel truly grateful for all the blessings in my life. Strength to you as you continue onward with your journey too:-)
