Caring Hearts Blog Hop

Today I've been invited to participate in the Caring Hearts Blog Hop. This is day 1 and another fabulous group of crafters will be back tomorrow for a 2nd day of hopping!  If you've been hopping along, you probably arrived from Caroline Bredeson's.  If not, no worries, the full hop list is at the bottom of this post, and you can just keep on hopping until you come full circle.  {grin}

The Caring Hearts Card Drive is a card drive organized by Vera Yates & Jennifer McGuire with the goal to collect holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes. During this time many of the elderly who lives in nursing homes are feeling lonely and missing their family. Wouldn't it be so awesome if we could bring a smile to their face & brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.  The card drive is going on right now until November 28, 2014. If you'd like to send your cards for the card drive please visit this blog post for the card drive details.

About my project:
My card for today uses my Mojo Monday card sketch for this week.  It's contest week, so if you've got a little time, come play along for a chance to win some Verve stamps! I always love seeing what everyone creates.

I stamped the two poinsettias from Joyous Noel in early espresso, embossed with clear detail embossing powder and then colored with Distress markers and a waterbrush.  The sentiment is embossed onto patterned paper and I distressed the edges of all my panels with antique linen and vintage photo ink.  The border is cut with one of the dies in the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set and I added some gold cording for accent.  I finished off with some ink splatters with the air art tool and a brushed corduroy marker.

In the true tradition of a blog hop, there are some fabulous prizes being given away to lucky commentors along the hop!  The prize drawing will be open until midnight CST on Saturday, November 8, 2014.  Winners will be chosen randomly based on collective comments left on the designers's blogs. So be sure to leave loads of love for everyone!

Prizes:
Online Card Classes – class of your choice! (THREE winners.)
Simon Says Stamp – $50 gift certificates
Inspiration emporium – $25 gift certificate
Verve Stamps - $30 gift certificate
Latina Crafter - $15 GC
May Arts – 2 rolls of ribbon
Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking - 1 year free subscription to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine

Okay, next up on the hop is Chaitali Narla.

I'll leave you with the full hop list for today, in case there's a glitch along the way:
