Brave Freedom

Hi friends!  Welcome to another week and a brand new Mojo Monday sketch.  This week's sketch is a simple one that I can see myself using over and over again.  After spending an all-American weekend with my family at one of our state parks, I was feeling especially patriotic, so I pulled out a pack of my favorite Americana papers and got to work.

The set I used is American Hero and I love that the stars in the set work perfectly with the largest star in the Starry Die.  I stamped the star image onto the die cut and then also onto the smaller star die cut for two different effects with one stamp and die.  I liked the tone on tone look, so decided to stamp the star randomly on my red panel, then cut the circle from my favorite section of one of the papers.  The sentiment is stamped on one of the diecuts from the Banner Bundle Die Set and I sponged everything with Antique Linen and Tea Dye distress inks to get an aged look.  The little banner is hand cut, then run through my paper crimper for the accordian look, sanded and inked with tea dye.  Easy peasy and done in under 20 minutes!   A must, since I sliced my toenail off one of my toes last night and needed to get back to icing it.

Hope you have a fantastic start to your week and I'd love to see what you do with the sketch!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh...I agree about the versatility of this sketch! I just saved it to my file of sketches so I can pull it out over and over again. Love what you did with it, so I'm saving your example right next to the sketch. I have a feeling there will be a number of example cards in my file by the time the week is over!! :)
