My card for the challenge is all about the soft subtleness of spring. I started with pink, yellow & aqua in my head, then glanced at a brand new paper pad I just picked up and saw the same colors in this yummy watercolored design that I stamped the sentiment from Easter Joy on. I wanted to add in some softness with vellum to match that yummy background in the inspiration pic, so sewed a chicken wire embossed piece of vellum to the blushing bride layer. The butterfly from Easter Joy is stamped on barely banana then covered with a layer of vellum. I stamped the butterfly again onto designer paper and cut just the butterfly wings and body out and popped up over the vellum. Some lace and a paper doily add to daintiness of the card, then I added some Pastel Sequin Mix randomly and flicked on some watered down gesso.

I have some recent cards on my blog with that same chicken wire die. This is so soft and pretty.
Adorable! I love how you cut down the butterflies and left their antennae behind the vellum. Great idea!

So beautiful and elegant. I really like the papers you used.
I really like how you did the butterflies and the vellum. Lovely soft card... would not think that would go with "chicken wire" but it does!
The embossed vellum is gorgeous over the pink cs, and I love the zigzag stitching and heavy distressing.
Beautiful! Love the embossed vellum layer. It really adds softness and interest at the same time.
I usually love a clean and simple feel...and then I see your distressed edges and think I want to go all shabby, chic. I never seem to pull it off well. This is beautiful!
So pretty! Loving the mix of modern and vintage and shabby chic. Just gorgeous!

Beautiful Spring card. The embossed vellum background really does give the softness to the overall look here. I love the way you did your butterflies with the vellum overlay. I always love to see sequins scattered on a card.
Such a pretty, feminine card, Julee ... love the softening effect of the vellum! Anita :)
