Clean and Nautical

Hi friends!  How was your weekend?  Mine was spent purchasing and switching over to a new computer, since my laptop died last week.  I always forget how much work a new computer is to set up, especially when you run as many programs as I do.  I'm feeling all spiffy (and at the same time, completely lost) with my new Windows 8 touch screen and brand new versions of all my design software.  If only this sleep-deprived brain would catch on to the new stuff a little quicker!  {grin}

Anyhow, you're probably here for a card, right?  It's the first Monday in a new month and that means it's contest time over at Mojo MondayPlay along with this week's sketch for a chance at one of seven prizes from Verve!  Woohoo!

With this sketch, I made a clean and simple Father's Day card using the new Strong Anchor set and coordinating Nautical Die Set.  The ship's wheel is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut with the Nautical Die Set.  I added an eyelet to the center.  The rope circle frames are stamped in Midnight Muse, then cut with Classic Circle Nestabilities.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.  I stamped the rope border on a strip of cream cardstock in Cherry Cobbler, then cut a pennant border using the Pennant Trim Die from Midnight Muse.  A stripe embossed cream panel and some old eyelets finish things off.

Okay, that's all from me today.  I hope you have a FABULOUS start to June!  My day is slated for packing and shipping orders and then trying to catch up on the mountain of emails and work that piled up while I was without a working computer!

Enabler's List
Stamps: Strong Anchor (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler (SU!), Natural White (Neenah)
Ink: Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso (SU!)
Accessories:  Nautical Die Set, Pennant Trim Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders), eyelets and stripe embossing folder (SU!)

This card is so masculine yet stylish. The colors are wonderful as are the dies. I like the eyelets. I guess I pretty much like everything about this card. P.S. I love buy a new PC, not setting them up.

Julee I love your card! I just love that you used eyelets, I never see those anymore! The colors and feel of your card is great.

I totally sympathize with your time lost to setting up a new computer. I'm still figuring out the whole windows 8 thing from my new one two months ago!

Thanks for a great sketch again - I LOVE this challenge. :)

Julee, this is wonderful! Love it!! Hope I can play along this week :)

I am in need of a new computer too but as you said, it's a lot of work! Probably better to do it BEFORE this one dies though.

Absolutely LOVE this crisp, clean design with this nautical set! The embossed stripe BG is perfect! I sympathize with you in changing computers! I had quite a learning curve when I switched a couple of years ago from a PC to a Mac, but now that I'm used to it...I love it!
