So Awesome

Hi friends!  It's RELEASE DAY over at Verve and Divas are putting on one last blog hop.  Today is designer's choice, so you'll be seeing the whole range of new products.  And today's blog hop prize is  a real humdinger.. the entire release!  Everything you've seen previewed this week is available in the store today!

If you've already been hopping you should have arrived from Jen Shults' blog.  If not, just jump right in! The master hop list is at the bottom of this post and you can check out all the prize details and the reveal of the new products over on the Verve Blog.

By the time I finished getting the website ready for release I only had 30 minutes left of nanny time, so I knew my card for today needed to be quick.  I hadn't had a chance to play with So Fluttery yet, so I pulled it out along with a few new dies and got straight to work.  I'd been thinking about resist, so I decided to emboss the butterfly with clear ink and embossing powder as a background all over my panel, then color over it with Gelatos in a rainbow of colors and blend with a baby wipe.  I tore a few edges and the main background was done.  Easy peasy!  Next I stamped the You are so sentiment onto a banner from the Banner Bundle Die Set.  And I embossed the awesome in white on a black die cut of the bracket tab from the Flag It Die Set.  I just love how these dies can be layered to add a whole new world of accents!  To add a fun little frame for the bracket tab, I simply traced the bottom edge of the die cut shape with a black pen, then moved it up a ways, traced the top and then glued it down in the center.  Such an easy way to add a border!

Speaking of borders, I used two of the three dies from the Scallop Trim Trio Die Set on this card.  The star border is up top and I used the circle border below my ruffled ribbon and as a little accent at the top of my sentiment banner.  The ribbon is one of the colors of seam binding from the new Spring Fling Ribbon Collection.  Scrumptious!

For one more accent I embossed the same butterfly in clear and embossed, then did some more Gelato blending and stamped the coordinating outline butterfly over the top in black.  {If I were to do it again, I'd stamp the black first, then stamp the clear and emboss, because the black ink slid a little on the clear embossing).  I finished with some black pearl accents to the butterfly body, which is all stamped onto a Flutterby Die cut.  And just because, I threw in some spritzing with my trusty Air Art Tool from SU! and a pumice stone distress marker.  30 minutes start to finish.  Whew!  {grin}

Okay, there's still lots of eye candy to go, so I'll just leave you with the hop list and enabler's list.  Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping along with us this release!  I hope you enjoyed our first looks at the new stamps!

Next up on the hop is the amazingly talented Laurie!

What a lively card! So wonderful that it took so little time to create but makes such a big impact! Thanks so much for sharing, since I'm sure it took longer to write up the description of how you did it than to actually do it!
