Just a Note and a HOP!

Hi friends!  It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Verve Divas to reach into their stamp piles for inspiration and put a new spin on a previously released stamp set.  Head on over to the Verve Blog to see the full inspiration hop list and find out who our 3 rockstar Guest Divas are for the month of August!  Then hop along and tell us what you think about our projects and one lucky commenter along the hop will win a prize!  If you've been hopping along already, you've arrived from Jen Tapler's blog.  If not, jump right in!!!

For my card I pulled out the Joyful Blooms set that released in April.  I hadn't used it in a while and had an idea to see what these elegant flowers would look like stamped on a ledger paper print.  I love the trendy look that resulted and best of all, I didn't have to do any coloring.  Each of the flowers is stamped in black and then cut out by hand.  I find cutting things out to be helpful in making the shift from mommy things into creativity and figuring out where I want to go with my card.  Sure enough, after cutting my flowers I knew what I wanted to to do!

The sentiment is also from the Joyful Blooms set and is stamped on a Charming Ovals die cut.  All of the papers are from my box of scraps.  I find that when I'm pressed for time, working from my scrap box makes things so much easier because there are so many less choices to make and I can find fresh new combinations, since I'm not just working with one line of papers.

A pile of boxes for Verve arrived as I was making this card, and in one of them were some samples of the new dies we're releasing this month.  I was a little bit giddy about them, and well, I hope you don't mind that one of them snuck itself onto my card! {grin}  That little black border strip is the new Pennant Trim Die from Verve that will be available following our release party on August 24!  So fun!  Hope you can join us as we celebrate 5 wonderful years of Verve!

I finished off with some linen thread and rhinestone accents and the card was done!  Hope you enjoyed today's card and have a fantastic time along the hop.  Here's the full hop list for your hopping pleasure.  Next up on the hop is Sankari!
