Mother's Day

Hi friends!  Happy Saturday!  I can't believe how quickly this past week has gone.  There's so much change going on in our lives right now it seems "normal" is a word I'll never use again.  We had to say goodbye to my feline companion of 13 years this week and the house (although noisier than it's ever been with these twin boys) seems so quiet without Katie around.  I miss her so much, but am comforted to know she's no longer in pain.

But, I'm not here about that, so let's move on.  I'm sharing a card I  made last weekend and this is the first bit of time I've had to blog about it.  When I created the Bloom & Grow set I envisioned it working with a lot of different flower dies, so I couldn't wait to pair it with the new Joyful Blooms Die.  The leaf is cut with the Elegant Leaves Die and stamped with the coordinating stamp from Bloom & Grow.  I don't often mat layers with cream, but I liked the contrast it gave with the pastel papers and thought it would be fun to add a little border to each mat.  I finished off with a double bow and a cabbage rose, then stamped the sentiment from Happy Phrases in the corner.

And for those of you asking for more photos of Kellan & Trevor, here they are in their Easter outfits, which read... "Chicks Adore Me".  {grin}  They're both doing fine and weighed in at just over 10 pounds each at their 2 month checkup last week.  Okay, that's all from me.  Hope you have a fabulous rest of the weekend!

Enabler's List:
Stamps:  Bloom & Grow, Happy Phrases (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Dolled Up (My Mind's Eye), Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz (SU!) Cream
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo (SU!)
Accessories:  Elegant Leaves Die, Joyful Blooms Die Set (A Cut Above by VERVE), pink liquid pearls (Ranger), loopy border punch (Martha Stewart), seam binding ribbon (SU!), cabbage rose (Prima)

wow, Julee...yes, I bet you're wondering when this roller coaster ride will slow down. It sounds like you are trying to just take one day at a time and figure it all out as you go...that's basically what we all do. We weren't born with a manual! What a delicious card full of Vervey goodness! LOVE the cream mats and how you stamped a different image on the dies!! ACK! Genius! I wish you the sweetest "first" Mother's Day and am sending you big hugs :) Those boys could not be cuter in their little Easter suits :)

My heart goes out to you re: Katie. Love those green eyes!! I know how much Scruffy has wormed his way into our hearts over the past 5 years and has become such a personality and part of the family. Hugs to you!

Love the card - Verve flowers are my fave :) The cream trim is always a favorite of mine and love the loopy borders you punched.

The boys are beyond adorable and nice to see them flourishing so well :) You must have bionic biceps by now LOL!

Wishing you a fabulous first Mother's Day times two :) It's a journey that is filled with so many challenges and amazing experiences that it is priceless! Drink deep :) Hugest of ((hugs)) to all four of you!

The card is beautiful, the boys are gorgeous - and I'm so sorry for your loss - I have two kitties of my own, and last year we lost our other one - she was 17 and it was so hard to say goodbye to her, but like y our girl Katie she was no longer in pain. You'll always miss her but it gets easier.

Thanks for sharing a pic of the boys - so sweet.

Normally I am a lurker, and a mouse-lover (rather than a cat lover) but I am sorry for your loss.

Missing is such a painful gift. It sounds like Katie was lucky to have you, and you to have her in your life.

You have support from your readers around the globe, and I hope that things get easier. Your boys sure are cute in their clever Easter outfits -- and your card looks great.

Thanks for taking the time to share the truth of your life. It keeps it real. {{{hug}}} Even from a stranger -- I just know how you must feel.

I was so excited to see a first picture of the boys...just too cute and I love their outfits! So sorry to hear about Katie...always sad to lose a family pet! Your card is gorgeous and I find myself using those leaves w/die over and over! Happy Mother's Day, Julee! Hope you've regained your strength by now. As infants they consume all your time, but soon they will be 2...then 20...then gone. It really does go by quickly.

Your boys are beyond gorgeous - wow! I hope you're doing well. Motherhood can be a very difficult journey, but it gets easier. The first noticeable change is 3 months, then 6 months. It does go quickly, even though it doesn't feel like it at this stage. Hang in there!

Thank you for sharing this picture of Kellan and Trevor - they are adorable and looking so healthy. God is so good isn't He? I hope you had a fabulous 1st Mother's Day.
I love your card - the pastel colours are so pretty. I love the flowers. One of the things I truly appreciate/love about Verve is the mix and match versatility - thanks for that:)
