Snowman Tea Tin

Happy Friday, everyone! I can't believe another week has already gone by! This morning is your last chance to get your Anything But a Card projects entries in to be part of our drawing for $15 in Verve Bucks. Link your entries to --> this post on the Verve Blog <-- by Noon today.

I'm not an altered project genius, mainly because I just don't have the patience to make anything more involved than a card. However, I love everybody else's altered projects, so I have collected an entire closet full of items I've picked up, bought, and generally just hoarded thinking to myself that one day I'd have time to make something cool with it. Well, that day finally came for this tea tin that's been sitting in the closet for 2 years now.

The altering process was pretty simple. I just cut a strip of Ski Slope DSP to wrap around the tin and secured with sticky strip. Next I cut another strip of DSP and used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch all across one edge, then adhered to the bottom section of the can with sticky strip.

For the lid, I used a 1/4" strip of the same DSP around the side of the lid, then used my Classic Circles Nestabilities to make the circles to cover the top of the lid. The Winter Wishes stamp is actually one of the freebies given out with some of the November orders. I stamped it in Craft Chocolate Chip ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I added the little star from Snowflake Splendor in Baja Breeze to finish off the lid.

For the snowman piece, I stamped the tall snowman from Snow Wonderful on pearlized white cardstock and then on the baja breeze DSP. I cut out the baja breeze scarf and hat and glued to the stamped snowman. His nose and shading is done with Copics, then I added a little Stardust Stickles to the snow around him. This is adhered to a Chocolate Chip mat with sticky strip and then stuck to the can. I finished with a chocolate chip taffeta bow.

Okay, hope you enjoyed my little project and that you have an awesome day. I'll be back tomorrow with the Our Creative Corner challenge.
