Blog Candy Bonanza

Hi everyone! Well, in 23 days I'll be celebrating my 2 year Blog-a-versary! And since I'll be right in the midst of another Verve release right about then, I decided to start the celebration a little early! Thanks to all of you who've been reading these past 2 years. Your comments and support are a daily inspiration to me. Thanks for taking the time to stop by my corner of the world each day. :)

What kind of a celebration would it be without a prize? Well, I've gathered a few of my favorite things, including a donation from my favorite stamp company owner, Alma of The Cat's Pajamas, to offer up as blog candy. Sorry about the poor photo - I hit the limits of how much stuff I could cram into my little photo box. :)

Here's the Loot...
Stamp Sets:
Elegant Christmas
Aargh! Piratey
Loving Mew
Thankful Blossoms
Seeing Stars
Wonderful Wishes
Snowflake Splendor
Cupcake Affair

Other Goodies:
Pearlescent Watercolors
American Crafts Swiss Dot Ribbon
Stardust Stickles
Pearlized White Cardstock
Cut N Dry foam (my favorite custom sponges for adding ink to my projects)
Assortment of 6 x 6 papers
Assortment of Vanilla Hodgepodge
2 Copic Sketch markers (BG09 and B93)
And who knows what other handmade goodies might just hop in the box?

So how do you win all this loot?
Just leave me a comment on this post telling me a few of your favorite things in 2008. They can be items, events, things that happened to you, accomplishments, etc. Just something that makes you smile when you think back about the past year. Leave your comment before midnight on Wednesday, December 17 and you'll be in the drawing for this bountiful blog booty! I'll announce the winner on Thursday, December 18.

Here's mine... In 2008 I fell in love with Copics, Nestabilites, and the Twilight series! My favorite day was sitting FRONT and CENTER at an Alanis Morissette concert. My favorite accomplishment was designing Beautiful You, a tribute to my amazing design team.

So how about you?

Comments are now closed. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with me!

2008 had some very special times at the beach with family. My mom was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease this year so each time we get together is extra special to me.

Thanks for sharing the blog candy.

I fell in love with our new dog, Auggie Doggie & of course my ever changing daughter (2 years old). I opened my own real estate office and we did well especially for the market. I have branced out from SU and I have fallen in love with many new companies and products. (Branching out was a big step LOL).

It's a good life!

As for me, the past year has been another wonderful one. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a wonderful vacation in Florida with my family. My daughter turned 16 this year....I still can't believe it! I became addicted to my Copics and my Nestabilities (maybe we should form a group of some sort...hehe) and I was published for the first time this past month. I can't wait to see what the next year will bring!! I hope it's a good one for you too!

Love ya girl!!

I have to say that 2008 wasn’t the best year for me.
My husband lost his job, we lost our home, and my youngest twin daughter quit her senior year to move in with her boyfriend.
And to end this great year none of my kids can be here for Xmas.
Favorite Day 2008 I met my brother for the first time; he flew from New Zealand and stayed a few days in Feb. (before we lost our home.)
Things I love.. I still have a small scrap booking area in my room; it’s always a mess.
I too love Twilight, I fell in love with a vampire name Edward, he’s 17 and I’m turning 48. lol
Favorite day. Any day I sit down and make a card, or take that one in a thousand great picture.
Things I’m thankful for, Family without them no telling where we would be right now.
My accomplishment was not falling apart. lol

I would say the best thing in 2008 was being able to go with my 14 year old daughter to Hong Kong on a mission trip. I loved being able to spend that special time with her. Congrats on 2 years! Terry

My favorite happenings this year was when my Daughter and I attended Lifelight Festival which is an all Christian Weekend Concert. We totally loved every moment. Another great happening was when my son asked his girlfriend of 5 years to be his wife! So exciting. I also started a Party Business which is just up and running.
Thanks for the chance at blog candy.

WoW ~ in 2008 I found card making and got immediately hooked. I started my blog and met a group of WONDERFUL women to share this obsession with. We took our kids on their first Vacation. (mine and Tommys first in 8 years?) The kids got to see, touch, and experience SNOW! It was so much fun to share that with them. A once in a lifetime chance for us really. God is good. He never ceases to amaze me. Everything he creates he creates with care and love and beauty. Thanks for the chance to win and happy blogaversary!

Oh my goodess Julee! Big congrats on your blog anniversary! That is a LOT of loot you are giving away!
This past year has been a whirlwind of special events for me...2008 has been an amazing year. On a stamping level, I've been lucky enough to be on several design teams, worked with some ultra-talented girls on the OCC and become a Dirty Girl. On a personal family level, I was lucky enough to have my mom visit last summer and then holiday twice to the States(sorry I missed you) and visit some very good friends! Plus everyone is happy and healthy in our house and that is a blessing in itself.
Best wishes to you and everyone for a wonderful 2009!

My favorite thing it's your blog and the nestabilities! I love wook them.

Congrats on your 2 year blog annivesary! You always have such great and creative ideas.

2008 has gone by so fast. As I look back on this year, some events that place a big smile on my face are the 2 family vacations I went on- one to San Diego and one on a cruise to Mexico. It also puts a big smile on my face when I think about the World Card Making Day event that I helped my friend with at the local library. The last thing is not an event but some thing that God helped me to realize a few months ago when I was having a hard time at work. He helped me realize how much fun I have working with my students in therapy.

Kris said...

Wow what a pile of loot! 2008 was supposed to be a great year for us. So many wonderful things were on our calendar and we just kept getting hit with tragic blow after tragic blow. One of the worst situations, one that threw me into a deep and nasty depression that I was spiraling out of control into is what I would say is the best moment in 2008. I know that sounds awkward and backwards, but during that depression I found the strength to renew my faith in my Savior. It became clear to me that the motions I was going through spiritually were inadequate, and reminded me that I am NOT in control, and only through a life lived through Him would I find peace. It was a great moment in my year and one that I will treasure forever.

Wow! Now that's some great candy! Congrats on your two-year Anniversary! My favorite thing each year is the time I spend with my family and friends. Another favorite thing this particular year was the recovery of my son from a horrible assault in April...the angels were watching over him that night. His attacker was caught BTW!!

First than anything else... Congrats for your 2 years blogging!

Well, the things that make me smile are many.

I fell in love with a wonderful man. I lost over 20 pounds of my weight and I'm in my way to starting 2010 (yeah, 2010 because the new year I'll be losing all those pounds left) with a new ME!

In stamping: well, I bought my scorpal and my Bind it all after SOOOO much thought and I think I did just the right decision. I started cleaning up my house and I think I'll have quite a lot of space to stamp.

Thanks for the chance of winning such nice blog candy!

This year, my oldest turned 7, my house had a major leak (not everything in life is good right). My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. All in all a year to remember!

Thanks for the opportunity to win

My favorites of this year include: my boys growing up a bit to where we can interact more than when they were babies and so dependent; I've discovered watercoloring and LOVE it; and I've been a work in progress in my faith. .. Wow, now that's a lot of candy!!! Congrats on two years :) Where does the time go?! I just love checking your blog - thanks for all the hard work you put into it.

2008...one of my favorite things is your Mojo sketches. Just love your layouts. Glad we discovered my DD had candida (yeast in her tummy) and have been able to treat it and have our little girl feeling wonderful again, but most of all I am yet again in awe and so thankful for God's faithfulness to our family, especially in the area of my DH's company. Business has increased each year and the next year has some wonderful prospects in it. God is good!!

Wow, 2 years already! Congratulations! A few of my favorite things....my son got a great new job and moved to Denver, Co. and is very happy. What a wonderful assortment of blog candy! In 2008, I found the nestibility dies and the JustRite stampers and love how well they work together. I went on a wondferul vacation with the family this summer and we saw so many things we've never seen before. It was a blast! I also started a part-time job (I already have a full-time job!) with some of my dearest friends and I love it. It's not really like work at all, but I do get paid and that helps my family too. Other than missing my daughter terribly, it's been a stellar year. Have's to more time for art and creativity in 2009.

Leslie has give everyone the gift of a wonderful environment to create in even if you are not a scrapbooker. This had lead to new friendships and a fresh look at creativity. I also enjoyed my 30th wedding anniversary with hubby. He was kind enough to let me attend the "So You Think You Can Dance" tour, so not his thing. But he loves me enough to suffer through,LOL!

Congratulations! What a fun 2 years I bet you have had. I would say my favorite day so far was to watch my oldest walk to the front stage and get her college degree in May. Woo Hoo! Second would have been when my husband and I booked our first 7-day cruise (for next month). Yippee! I also discovered blogs in 2008. Never knew what they were before. Also, I am new to card making. I have always scrapbooked but since I joined my SU Stamp Club once a month, I had not made a card. I am really enjoying it. I am learning so much. Thanks for the chance to win some really awesome blog candy. I love your work and you really inspire me.

First of all, Happy Anniversary! 2008 brought many challenges as well as triumphs. But one that brings a smile is seeing my home school efforts come full circle, with my daughter graduating from high school a year early with a 4.0 GPA. Also, I discovered card making, prior to 2008 I'd only been a scrap booker. Also, I discovered an online community of people who share my love of paper crafting. I discovered Copics, and Nesties and the Cuttlebug!! I also discovered some really awesome stamp companies, that offer classic, quality products...like Verve! Thanks for the opportunity to win such a gracious gift! Blessings~Barb

I've also loved all the new people I've met this year and new friends I made online. It's only been a year of blogging for me, but in this past year I have met so many awesome ladies who have lended their hearts and support when I was need and who have taught me so much whether about life and the struggles we go through or just about new things I can do with papercrafting! Congratulations! 2 years...wow!

Some of my favorite things from 2008 were, 2 different dear friends beat their fights with death causing diseases, I discovered the world of craft blogs and a way to communicate with people who enjoyed creating as much as I do without having to leave my home to do it, I got my own disease better under control so that I could get back to creating more...and this has made such a drastic impact in my life, and I got back out in the flower beds, creating habitats for the local wildlife which has brought me an abundance of joy in itself. I'll throw in three favorite craft items for giggles. Let's see...2008's...The Cricut Expresion w/Design Studio has opened up a lot of possibilities. I discovered the Gamsol technique for colored pencils and how to use them with Sharpies and get the look of Copics. And this isn't an action thing anyone can buy, but my husband created a workstation for me across the longest wall in my studio and it has made all the difference in the world.

I'm pretty darn lucky really.

Thank you.

Thanks for all the inspiration on your wonderful blog! A few my my favorite things about 2008 came in small packages. In January, our fourth grandson was born, 5 weeks early and spent some time in preemie ICU, those nurses at St. Lukes Meridian became some of my fav people, they took such good care of my daughter and grandson. Our fifth grandson arrived in April, a bouncy round package! Both boys are now doing well and growing! I also discovered the stamping blogosphere in 2008, it brings me many hours of enjoyment and inspiration.

congrats on your pending blogaversary! In 2008 I rediscovered time for myself. My son is finally at an age where he is able to play by himself for short periods of time. I have also discovered the good things in stamp land - quality products, great new stamp companies and also fellow blogging stampers who share my obsession! It's been a good one :)

CONGRATS on the Big 2!
The best 2 things that happened this year would have to be that 1. our house is now paid for and it's ours! 2. I made it to be on a design team for a stamp company!

I rejoined CTMH this year. I have found so many wonderful blogs to visit & take part in challenges, as well as so many stamping companies that I absolutely adore. I have read the Twilight series. And best of all, I have gotten to spend tons of time with my grandchildren.

Julee, do you ever stop giving stuff out!? My fav thing about 2008 was giving birth (well not the actual birth part) to my daughter Coralai. She's such a joy and a blessing from above.

Thanks for the chance at this blog candy!

Playing Mrs. Mayor in the musical Seussical and meeting one of my very best friends definitely tops the list for 2008. :) My oldest started high school and my youngest started kindergarten, so I've been enjoying a whole new schedule and loving it! I'd have to add multiple blessings and my husband's new job to that list. I also got to spend three weeks with family this summer. It's been a really great year. :) I even hooked my sister on stamping! :D

It has to be that I started crafting!

I had researched my family tree last year, and had a handful of black and white photo's to return to my mum. There were 12, all she had to mark the first 19 years of her life. So, rather than just hand them back in an envelope, I decided to make an album for her.

I had heard of scrapbooking and seen card suppliers online, but hadn't got involved because it looked addictive (how right I was!) but I wanted acid free stuff, so ordered some stuff online- papers and card, some chipboard shapes and embellishments.

I made the album itself from scratch with cardboard and suede, bookrings and ribbon.

She absolutely loved it and was moved to tears!

Then I did a little one for my best friend's 40th and I was hooked.

A blogger friend said "try cards!" but I was reluctant- then she sent me a big parcel full of spare blank cards and scraps. And now I have changed the study into a craft room and I'm selling stuff that I make. I've trawled sales, subscribed to a craft magazine and bought lots of stamps from Ebay. I'm hooked!

Wow! What a year!

Your blog candy is so generous. I doubt I shall win, but I've enjoyed your blog! Thank you for the chance to join in!

:)

I have only been stamping for a little while. When I started taking classes for stamping and learned the different techinques from people like Julee, lorie and many more I got hooked.
I fell in love with nestabilities and the cuttlebug, you can do so much with these two things. I have a beautiful life and I am blessed every day that I am able to get out of bed and do the things that are meaningful to me. Like stamping!!!
Thank you Julee for giving me a chanch to win all the goodies.

My best memory/event of 2008 was finally graduating from college with my BA in Business Econ 31 years after I graduated from high school! And the fact that my two sisters came out from FL and MS to attend my graduation, and we had such a wonderful time together. It was really special because we don't get to see each other very often. I also discovered SCS and blogging this year. Congrats on your 2-year anniversary!

Congrats on your 2 year anniv. Life itself makes me smile. I love spending time with my six grandbabies, children, family and friends. One of the memories I will cherish is having my sons, their wives, girlfriend, and grandchildren this summer together for 10 days in FL. It was great when my two year old granddaughter looked up at me and said "Neenee, I love my FL house and pool." I love looking at blogs and creating cards. Sandy from Leonardtown, MD.

This year was wonderful as I welcomed my daughter, Kiah Alexandra, into the world and our lives on July 4th. Was and continues to be the best gift I have ever received! Blog candy however, would also be nice (lol)!

My favorite things in 2008, I agree with all on Copics and Nesties. But the best for me is finding out that I will be a grandmother in Feb 2009. I'm having a wonderful time with my daughter, she is going to be a great Mom. I have some great moments ahead......I can't wait.

Congrats on two years! Your blog was one of the first I stumbled upon when I started stamping this summer--always get some "mojo" from each of your posts.

This year's highlights were the first trip to Disney with DH, celebrating our first anniversary, and my sister finishing her chemo successfully!
