Ribbon Squares

Today I cooked up a little number for you with the newest Verve release, Asian Flair, and this week's SCS Sketch Challenge. The how of the card is pretty straight forward. I cut nine 1.25" squares and then stamped 5 with the square stamp in Certainly Celery and then 4 in Soft Sky. Next I matted with black cardstock, added black dots to each of the corners of the squares and then lined the squares all up on a 4.5" square card base. Next I tied a little black grosgrain around the card and added another knotted bow on the other side for symmetry.

For the main panel, I stamped the sentiment in the center of a 2.5" x 2.25" square and then stamped the flower ribbon stamp below and the butterfly above.Next I stamped the flower and the butterfly again and popped them up, coloring with Soft Sky and Certainly Celery ink. I finished off with some dots around the panel and voila! A card was born!

Although I didn't look at the sample cards, I must have subconsciously remembered Jen's (designer of the sketch) original card, since my butterfly is almost in the exact same place and colored pretty similarly!
