Birthday Hoopla

Happy Wednesday! This morning I actually got a chance to stamp, so it's been a pretty good day so far. I needed a birthday card (I actually need several, but only one got made today), so I pulled out the Floral Whimsy set and some We R Memory Keepers Hoopla paper from the White Out collection. The layout is this sketch Colleen posted almost a month ago, and I'm just now getting to. I really loved the circles in the sketch. Unfortunately I made a thumbprint booboo near the bottom corner of my image panel, so I had to move the second circle to the bottom, but other than that I stuck to the sketch.

I started by stamping the vase in Old Olive on Pearlized Bright White, next I stamped the stems and then added a little interest to the vase with the small two dots stamp in Old Olive. Next I took one of the flowers and stamped on each stem with Purely Pomegranate and colored in with a Pretty in Pink marker. I sponged around the edges in Soft Sky and then pierced a row of holes along the top and bottom edge. Next I cut a circle from Soft Sky prints and a larger one from the Hoopla paper with my Nestabilities dies and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Fancy Florals Remixed in Purely Pomegranate. I added the Prima Majestic Blue flower with a pearl brad in the corner. For the horizontal strip I used a corner rounder to make a scallop border, and then layered a strip of Soft Sky that I embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder over the top of it and tied a knotted bow with some vanilla taffeta. I finished off with some Frosted Lace Stickles on each of the flowers. My finished card is on a 5" square card base of Soft Sky.
