Something Old, Something New

Happy Sunday, everyone! I actually made a little stamping time this morning, so I thought I'd share. I'm totally hooked on this Loveland paper by Scenic Route, so I had to use a little more of what was sitting on my desk. The layout is Beate's Weekend Sketch #31, and is a super fun one. I pulled out another one of my neglected new sets - Hearts and Love by Inkadinkado and an old, old friend - my Stampin' Pastels and got to work.

I started by arranging the two bird stamps on my acrylic block how I wanted them to line up, then I stamped them both at once in Versafine Onyx Black and then outlined each bird with a light gray Tombow marker. Next I restamped just the heart part of the bird with heart stamp in Versafine Crimson Red on another sheet of paper and cut out and layered over the black heart. I then stamped the swirly border stamp across the top and bottom of my image panel with Crimson Red ink and then sponged some Pretty in Pink chalk to give it a softer framed effect. This panel is matted with Black cardstock and then I used the smallest of the corners from the SU! photo corner punch in opposite corners and added some Fern rhinestones.

The sentiment is from the Verve Visual Flirty Phrases set, and I inked it with Versafine Onyx Black and Crimson Red, cut out and used the SU! ticket corner punch on all the corners. I paper pierced a line of holes underneath the sentiment and then finished off the card with 3 little black satin bows on the vertical strip of Loveland paper.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Hearts and Love (Inkadinkado), Flirty Phrases (Verve Visual)
Paper: Loveland (Scenic Route Paper Co.), Basic Black (SU!)
Ink: Onyx Black, Crimson Red (Versafine)
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Mat Pack (SU!), Black Satin ribbon (May Arts), Fern Rhinestones (MAMBI), Stardust Stickles (Ranger), Paper Piercer (Making Memories)

Julee, I love the way you used this loveland paper. I've got lots of it and I've been crazy with the pink versions, but I love the green you used here. Great take on the sketch!!
