Mojo Monday Week #5

Can you believe it's Monday already??? I can't! I've been so busy I didn't even get to pick up a stamp the entire weekend. Oh well, at least I got to look at all your FABULOUS mojo entries!!! :) I even had to call in reinforcements to help me judge this week, because it was just too hard to choose. So many of you are just laying on the mojo. So, the announcement you've all been waiting for... the Week 4 Mojo Winner is Charmaine I. from Oodabug Alley! This party girl card just screams mojo, with the cool brads, faux stitching, paper piecing, the coloring, the cuttlebug slider on top of the scallop punch. Absolutely yummy! Congrats Charmaine! Be sure to check out the show at the bottom of this post - lots of beauties from Jan Tink, Beate, Dana S, and Kathie B to name just a few of my favorites.

As promised, this week's Mojo Challenge is a treat/gift giving challenge to make a nugget box. Nugget boxes are paper boxes made with a sheet of paper to fit Hershey nuggets, but the templates are in all shapes and sizes, depending on the number of nuggets you want to give. I think the one I used for this project would be perfect for some 3x3 notecards to give a little set of gift enclosures. The templates are all on this thread on SCS. I used the nugget_box_6_short.pdf template located on post #5 on that thread. Check out the nugget box tutorial if you need instructions. They're super fun to make! Okay, you know what to do - make me a nugget box! LOL! If you upload your creation to SCS, please use keyword Mojo5 so we can all view the fab creations throughout the week.

Okay, Isn't this box just darling? I've had nuggets on my mind ever since PaperTrey came out with their Avery Label stamps. I decided not to purchase any of their sets, but I thought these penguins from The Cat's Pajams just screamed, "I Want Candy", so I pulled out some labels and did my own thang! :) The See No Evil penguins come all together, but I just snipped each of mine to make three stamps (don't hate me Alma!). That's one cool thing about unmounted stamps - as long as you make a fairly straight cut it's super easy to stick them back together on the block if later on you want to stamp them together as they were intended.

To emboss the box, I ran the paper through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes embossing folder after I did all the cutting and folding (but before I glued anything). I folded the flaps that wouldn't show under, so that the important parts of the box would fit in the folder and be embossed.

Stamps: The Cat’s Pajamas
N-7477 Polar Holiday – Christmas Penguin, Cold Outside
N-7475 Kitty Christmas – See No Evil
D-5282 Large Circle Snowflake
Paper: Archiver’s Cardstock
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Sakura Stardust Pens; Zig Markers
Accessories: Cuttlebug Snowflake and Squares emboossing folders, Avery Address labels; May Arts ribbon

This week I decided to test out a a new photo viewer. I think it looks cleaner and less distracting, but you do have to click on each thumbnail to see the pictures. There are little numbers in the bottom left hand corner. These are page numbers - you start on page 1 and there are about 12 thumbnails per page. You can click on each thumbnail to view that photo until you get to the end, then click page 2 and look at those photos. I've got a poll up on the sidebar for you to tell me if you like this way or the previous weeks' slideshows better. Enjoy the fabulous talent that was submitted this week!

BTW, I can't wait to try this nugget box! It looks so fun!

I think it's easier to look through the pics with the slide show version. But - I don't think this one is 'totally lame' at all! I like this one, I just wish it would flip through the pics automatically.
