I'm a collector with small tendancies to using on occasion! But first, the paper must sit and be pretty for a while!

My name is Kim and I am a paper collector......haha! Whenever I go into a scrappin' store or Joann's or Michael's...whatever, I end up leaving with a bag FULL of paper!! I can't help it...it calls my name and I can't leave it all alone there in the store!! I have my favourites (can you say Basic Grey?) but I DO use it...either on scrapbook pages or cards!! It's so pretty, sometimes it's hard to take the scissors to it!!! Heehee!

I am a user since I find it helps me establish the colors for a card. I then have to go find a sketch on SCS or somewhere else and then I think, think, think. So what I am saying is that I have no original ideas of my own and DP has become essential! (Plus it is relatively cheap to pick up a couple of pieces from time to time so I can always rationalize another purchase!)

Oh, yeah, I'm a hoarder. We won't discuss the CRATE of CTMH papers I accumulated over my 4 years as a consultant for them. I can't seem to use it (it's all retired... it CAN'T BE REPLACED! EEK!), nor can I seem to get rid of it! I did find some great paper around Christmas time that I actually used to alter a lunch tin, but for the most part, I'm a "collector of fine patterned papers". Now, doesn't that sound better than "hoarder"???

i don't have a whole lot of patterned paper but what i have i use.

Whoa!

I was googling my name (haha) and found this blog. I didn't know you were blogging. Great! I'll bookmark it! And you know...I NEED some blog candy.

I bought patterned paper YEARS ago when I thought I had to be a scrapbooker b/c I was giving birth to kids...and I didn't want them to turn 10 and be the only kids in school without a scrapbook. So I bought some (hideous) papers in those "stacks."

I didn't use them...I'm not a scrapper..>I'm a stamper! So for YEARS, I have "saved" not hoarded the paper. But for the last weei or 2, I've been using the paper for some cute valentines.

I hope to one day get some pretty paper that is worthy of being used or hoarded!

Pick me! Pick me!!

I use patterned paper, but I tend to store it for a while first because I wait until I'm making something that the paper's suited for - the paper isn't usually what I base the card around, unless it's something really special.

Yes, I do use patterned paper on cards once in awhile.

i'm a user lol! and i'm still sticking with my new years resolution to not buy anymore patterned paper until i use up the sheets i have!

I love to use patterned paper and I use it on almost all my cards. I have mostly 6x6 and 8 1/2x11. I also use the beautiful mat stacks.
I love your blog!

I hoard and then use. I keep my patterned paper sorted by colors and then styles-so stripes with stripes and dots with dots etc. I always but into 6 inch squares and go from there. I do the same with ribbons too. Fun stuff paper is.

I guess I am a patterned paper hoarder, even when I puchased it for 10 cents a sheet at Hobby Lobby. I usually think it is too pretty to use. Isn't that why I bought it in the first place; pretty paper to use making cards or did I buy it to put it in a drawer? This reminds me of my grandmother who ironed Christmas paper after gifts were opened and she would use it to wrap our gifts the next year. That reminds me of my mother-in-law ironing dollar bills before she gave them to my daughters as gifts; she felt it made them like new.

For the most part I'm a paper hoarder. But I also love to use it, even thought it's painful at times. But - beautiful and/or fun paper gives wonderful results with ease so that is my compensation.

Love paper, all kinds of paper. I do hoard it but I also use it. Love western themed stuff too as my son and daughter-in-law just got a new horse and pony!!!

I hoard patterned paper like you wouldn't believe. I have three large containers of 12x12 and two or three of the small pages. I have just recently started using it though and it creates a fast card.

I'm a lover AND a user! I buy way too much of it, so using it lessens my guilt and justifies my purchases. I don't have this Crate Paper yet, though, so I'd love me some Blog Candy!

I have to admit I am a pp hoarder. But I am doing my best to use more often instead of 'collecting'.

Can you be both a hoarder and user, cause that's what I am. I have a pile of patterened paper sitting with my stuff and I am headed out today to buy more, but in my defense I did use some patterened paper last night for a baby card. Hey you never know when you might need a little ummph in your card. LOL

I am a hoarder. I am trying to break that habit and make myself use it. I need to remind myself that it can be replaced! LOL

I am such a paper stroker/hoarder, since find SCS I have tried to be much better, but I still have a few pieces that I don't think I will ever use as the idea of using them makes me feel sick!!!! rofl how sad am I

Anonymous said...

I'm a user, that looks like a hoarder. I love using it but I buy more than I can use. Never enouch play time I guess :( Plus those darn paper companies keep adding new designs and then I have to have more, darn them :)

I most definately am a hoarder! The few projects in my gallery at Splitcoast showcase I think a total of 3-4 projects of which I have cut (gasp) into my stash of beautiful patterned paper. I hoard all things paper craft related (i.e. hardware, brads, eyelets, bling, etc.) and have recently started actually using some of my stuff (baby steps...baby steps). I know that there is hope for people like me. :-)

Oh I am fickle I switch from hoarder to user. I will use then and love what am creating but still have some that are to special to use for just anything so they wait for that special project. Sick eh

I love patterned paper but like others I don't use it as much as other things! I don't want it to be all gone! Recently I have started incorporating it into my cards a bit more due to inspiration from all the wonderful stamping blogs out there! Thanks for all the ideas!

Your flower cards are amazing!! wow!! Makin' me wish I had gottn that BIG ol' flower!! I guess there is still time!! Is it hard to find envelopes that size or do you just make your own??

Paper? What paper?? Who ME?? Just kiddin'.......after reading this I got to thinkin'......I don't have alot, but the paper I DO have, I just WONT cut into!! Doing it justice has been an issue, but I am also afraid it'll be used up when I need it for just the right project, card, sb page. What if I come across pic's I want to scrap and the paper I used up last week would have been perfect?? Its not like there are stacks and stacks at countless LSS, Joannes, Craft Warehouse that i could go get more......right?? HEHE!!

Well, am I a user or hoarder?? A little of both, I guess!!

I am a hoarder and user :)
I have been buying a lot lately but have started cutting into them. There are always new beautiful ones, so if I use the ones I have, there will be plenty more to buy and enjoy!!

Thanks for the chance!

I am both... I use my SU paper mostly... and hoard the rest! For some reason I buy very nice paper, but I can't make myself use it! I especially like the nice pads of paper. My theory is that I can replace my SU paper, so I use it... because I can buy more, KWIM? But the other stuff... I usually get it when I'm out of town or something... and I just KNOW I will never see it again. So I buy it and don't use it. I love your blog... very inspiring!

I think I'm a *hoarder*? I buy the patterned paper b/c it's so purty then i don't want to cut into it...or often, I'm just not quite sure what to do w/ it so it won't be hidden or subdued by other designs. Argh! I need help! lol

Hi! I am new to your blog and the blogging community. What a funny question because I often make fun of myself for hoarding paper. I buy it and am don't want to use and "waste" it. So silly. I keep thinking that it must be saved for the Perfect card not realizing that it could probably make the card I am working on perfect! I am more likely to use smaller sheets of paper instead of 12x12 and haven't figured out the phsycology of that yet!

I enjoy your blog! Have a great Sunday!

Very nice give away...love the paper!!!

I'm a user! I LOVE patterned paper, and everytime I go anywhere I can get some, I do, but I do try to use it as much as I can! Sometimes I am afraid to use it, like you said, that I won't do it justice, and alot of times I don't, but I almost can't sleep at night, if I know I have beautiful paper that I haven't used....it calls my name!

Love your blog!

I am glad I am not alone!! I have SO much paper and I keep buying more and more and more. I like to sort it and resort it and look at it and plan projects with it (that I know I won't do). To me it feels like I have only one chance to use it for the perfect project and if I use it then it won't be there for the "that would have been perfect for this" time. Oh well, we all have our quirks ;-}

The scale tipper is the ribbon. I love the stamped background along side the printed paper. Your work is amazing!
