Filled with Sunshine

Ready for more sunshine?! ☀️ I'm back with another card from the Sending Sunshine Card Kit! If you saw my unboxing video, you know I was challenged to use the pipe cleaners, and guess what? I did! It makes for the perfect sunflower center!

The card began with stamping the large sunflower image onto watercolor paper, which I then masked for a seamless effect. While the image was masked, I created a dynamic watercolor background with orange and yellow inks. After removing the mask, I colored the sunflower petals and leaves. Once dry, I coiled a portion of the brown pipe cleaner and adhered it to the center of the flower with hot glue, then added fine detail glitter for a touch of sparkle.

I hand-tore the edge of the watercolor panel for a soft look and added dimension with a piece of the yellow foam sheet from the kit. The panel is adhered to a white A2 card base, with some of the included twine wrapped around it and tied with a bow. I finished the card with a sentiment from the kit's stamp and die set and a scattering of beautiful rhinestones.  Such a fun card to make!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic day.

Warm Mugs Cozy Hugs

Hi friends! It’s hard to believe we're already in September, but I'm so ready for all things fall. 🍂 This month’s Not 2 Shabby subscription box is absolutely perfect for the season, with themes of books, coffee, and all things cozy. Today, I'm excited to share my very first project using the fabulous September Box of the Month. If there are openings, you can purchase the box as a one time purchase, or get a discount with a subscription. If not, be sure to sign up for the wait list to be notified when there are openings. As always, the stamp sets are exclusive to the box, but the papers and ephemera are available for individual purchase.

To create this card, I mixed papers from both of the included paper pads to build a warm and inviting background. The images are from one of the stamp sets in the box, and I colored them with Copic markers to match the warm tones of the Pumpkin Spice Latte Paper Pad. To finish, I added a die-cut doily and a seam binding bow, which adds a cozy touch that goes perfectly with the "warm mugs and cozy hugs" sentiment.

That's all for this card. Be sure to hop on over to Not 2 Shabby to see all the new goodies. I especially love this month's Paper Pad Club and Stamp of the Month selections!
