Sunshine Shoes with Not 2 Shabby

Hello friends! Can you believe it's already April? The days are flying by! A new month brings new goodies at Not 2 Shabby and this month I'm playing with the Paper Pad Club and the Stamp of the Month.

I love blues, so I was super happy to see the papers in this month's Paper Pad Club. The Flowers: The Music of Spring pad has beautiful papers and cut aparts in yellows and blues that perfectly coordinate with the Sunshine & Petals PET Tape.  The Denim Spring paper pad coordinates with the Blue Spring Awakening PET Tape.

I hadn't watercolored in a while, so I pulled out my Gansai Tambi watercolors and got to work. The shoe image is from the Stamp of the Month, embossed in black onto watercolor cardstock. I colored with blues and yellows, and greens to coordinate with the background paper I chose.  Once I was done coloring, I added a bit of splatter in blue and yellow to the panel. I love how splatter makes all your messiness look planned! LOL I fussy cut one of the denim blues ephemera pieces, since I didn't want a white border and added it to the card to finish off my focal panel.

The sentiment and the smaller butterflies are from the Sunshine & Petals PET Tape. See what I mean about perfect coordination? Love it! Some sunny yellow crinkled seam binding and sparkly enamel dots finish things off.

Sweet Days with Not 2 Shabby

Hello friends! Today I'm taking part in the This or That hop over on Instagram. This week's prompt is SWEET or SNARKY. In real life, I enjoy the snark, but for cards I usually stick to sweet, uplifting sentiments. So I turned to the Yummy Strawberries paper and Sweet Berry Cottage ephemera from this month's N2S Box of the Month.

I started with that lovely gingham paper, matting with some new to me lacy layering dies. I cut the strawberry print paper from the larger lacy mat, then layered them all together.  I chose a gorgeous, large ephemera piece with the strawberries and blossoms, highlighting the leaves and berries just a bit to match the deeper reds and greens in the paper.

The sentiment is from the Berry Best Friends stamp set in the March box, and I finished off with a butterfly ephemera piece and some sparkling enamel dots. They're always the perfect ending to a card.
