Christmas in July

Hi friends, today I’m popping in with a little Christmas in July. My birthday is on the 25th, so lucky for me, there always seems to be a celebration going on in the stamp community!

Today Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps kicked off a 25% off sale on their Christmas and Winter sets. Lots of fabulous sets to get you in the mood for your holiday crafting. And if you happen to be on th site, don’t forget to pick up the stamp of the week, Snowflake Background for only $5. I’ve used the background on both of today’s cards.

My first card uses the adorable Cocoa’s Ornament Digi. I had this image all colored up last winter, but ran out of time to turn it into a card. So I pulled out some teal ink and navy card stock and got to work. The ornament and sentiment are from the Deck The Halls set. I colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut the ornament.  I added the Snowflake background to one side of the sentiment circle, stamping off a second time for a variation in color  I then added this to the stamped background and layered everything together.

The next morning, I had an idea for a more traditional Christmas card, so I had to pull out the Snowflake Background again and give it another go. This time, I embossed the snowflakes in white on stone cardstock, then sponged with stone ink around the edges.  I pulled out Christmas Pine and stamped and watercolored the images, then hand trimmed and layered together, adding some glitter to the pine cones.  I embossed the sentiment on a strip of stone cardstock, then added some dark roast mats to finish things off.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Here's a sampling of cards I've made with Christmas & Winter sets from Sweet 'n Sassy.
