Warmth of Christmas

Hi friends! How crazy is it that September is almost over? It's been a whirlwind month for me, and I'm looking forward to a bit slower pace in October, before all the craziness of the holidays hits.

Today I'm sharing a couple of Christmas cards I made with the Warmth of Christmas set. I love how these silhouettes can be super simple or dressed up, and they look great either way!

My first card is super simple. I stamped the tree multiple times using my MISTI in peeled paint, forest moss and pine needles distress oxide, adding water to the stamp to blend until I was happy with the end result.  I then selected a sentiment from the We Three Kings to stamp off to the side and accented with pearls for ornaments and a gold star rhinestone.  I matted this on a gold glitter paper square and finished for a super quick and fun square card design.

My next card was a bit more involved, but so much fun! I stamped the fireplace from Warmth of Christmas in No Line Fadeout ink, then watercolored with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. To get a cobblestone look on the fireplace, I stamped the fireplace on a post-it and used the negative cut out to mask the surroundings and log and flame portion.  I then stamped over my watecoloring with frayed burlap ink using the cobblestone background from Texture Tiles 2. Love the texture it gave to the fireplace. I then added details with Chameleon Fineliners.

For the wood floor, I masked off a portion of the bottom of the panel and then inked with antique linen distress oxide and stamped over it with the Wood Backgrounds stamp in Gathered Twigs.   I then masked off the fireplace and sponged around the upper portion with scattered straw and wild honey.  The sentiment is stamped above and I stamped the present three times in fired brick, accented with a fineliner pen and then fussy cut to place around the fireplace.  I finished off with a gold bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful start to your weekend!
