September Keeping Christmas Blog Hop

Click here or scroll down for my STAMPtember post.

Hi friends! It's the 25th of the month and that means it's time to join my crafty friends once again as we share Christmas inspirations along our monthly Keeping Christmas Blog Hop.

If you're just popping in, the hop starts over at Kelly's blog. If you came from Claire Broadwater's blog, then you're right on track! 😊

I love a good old fashioned vintage Christmas card, and this one came together so well!  Every year I buy vintage ephemera, and then only use a piece or two, if that. This year I'm determined not to buy any more until I use some of what I have already! I actually got a chance to use three pieces on this card, so I'm off to a great start! 😀

I have always wanted to be a hand letterer, but somehow never find the time to practice. Luckily there are some amazing letterers out in the illustrating world, like Rebecca Rios who designs for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I love this sweet be jolly sentiment from the gorgeous Deck the Halls set. To give it a handmade flair, I stamped it in no line fadeout ink and then traced and colored with Chameleon Fineliners. These pens are a dream to write with and I had a bunch of fun pretending I was a letterer for this project! LOL

When I was done with the sentiment, I cut it out with one of the Scrolls Infinity dies from Hero Arts, then stamped over it in antique linen with the script stamp from the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set. Then I lightly sponged around the edges and added a bit of ephemera to that panel.  Then it was just a matter of selecting some vintage papers, tucking in some ephemera after sponging them with distress inks and tying up with a seam binding bow.

Hope this fun little card has inspired you to get going on your Christmas projects! Seems like the year is flying by! For more eye candy and inspiration, head on over to the next stop on the hop... Kim Heggins!
