Hi friends! It's time to kick off the release of another fabulous My Monthly Hero Collection. That means you can pre-order your kit today - kit shipping begins Friday, June 7th and continues throughout the following week. The June My Monthly Hero Kit takes a walk on the wild side with a super fun jungle theme. In addition to all the incredible products, this month's kit is also a GIVING kit! Hero Arts will donate 10% of the net profits from this kit to jungle habitat preservation through the World Wildlife Fund.

Once again, Hero Arts is generously giving away a fabulous prize to celebrate the release. If your name is drawn you'll receive this month's kit (or reimbursement if you've already purchased the kit) absolutely free! If you're not already a kit subscriber, you should really consider subscribing. The kits frequently sell out and subscribing guarantees you'll never miss a kit. The kits are such a great value, with super fun and versatile images and accessories. Plus there's such a wealth of inspiration from the designers each month! Speaking of inspiration, let's get started...

Handmade card by Julee Tilman using Hero Arts products | www.poeticartistry.blogspot.com

This fabulous tiger image was the first one to grab me when I sat down to create with the June My Monthly Hero Kit, so I stamped him with the Intens-ified Black mini ink included in the kit, then colored with markers and cut with the coordinating die. The gorgeous Leaves & Vines Fancy Die add-on seemed like the perfect backdrop so I cut it from kiwi cardstock and then blended with green apple, fresh lawn and pine inks.

I then cut one of the fancy vine dies from the kit from kiwi cardstock and blended with the same green inks. The sentiment is stamped with the new Clear Embossing & Watermark ink and then embossed with detail white embossing powder onto vellum. I cut this with the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies and then wrapped the vine die cut around it and popped up on foam tape. The card base is arctic cardstock, with a bit of dusty blue sponging around the edges.

Next I turned to the fantastic leafy stencil included in the kit. Continuing with my green theme, I blended with the same three green inks and loved the unique background it created. The you amaze me sentiment from the kit was a favorite for me, and I decided to pair it with the bird image, which living in a western, land-locked state and never having seen any exotic birds, I originally thought was an ostrich. After closely looking at it after editing photos, I realized it's actually a flamingo! Oops! The Internet tells me that flamingos are not born with pink feathers, they are born with white or grey feathers and they gradually turn pink due to their diet. So we're just gonna call this one either a baby flamingo or an adult flamingo with a crustacean allergy, and move right along, okay? 😉

After coloring  the bird, I added in two of the leafy frond images from the kit as a little backdrop, then inked up a circle die cut with butter bar and dandelion inks to make the bird stand out.  I popped my baby flamingo collage up on foam tape over the stenciled background, then stamped the sentiment in intens-ified black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the Cut-Align to cut into a strip, then matted with pitch black and accented with a few adhesive pearls to finish things off.

I loved how the inks looked blended on the white cardstock, so I decided to cut the beautiful Jungle Frame Fancy Die add-on from white and blend with green apple, fresh lawn and pine. I layered this over an A2 white card base, then worked on coloring up the sweet elephant from the kit and cutting with the coordinating frame cut. I threw in a pop of pink to her headdress and then accented the jewel in the center and her toes and tusks with the crystal clear lacquer pen.

The sentiment is stamped in intens-ified black ink and cut and matted with the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies. A pretty simple design, but I love how that green pops against the white!

There are two absolutely beautiful bold print background add-ons in this month's collection. I just couldn't get enough of those bright greens, so I embossed the Jungle Bold Prints add-on in white detail and blended with the same three greens for a vibrant background. I then blended a rectangle of white cardstock with greens and embossed the sentiment and some of the leaf images from the kit in white, then sponged just around the edges so the sentiment would stay white.

Another awesome part of this month's kit is a Jungle Palette Dot Card of 18 Daniel Smith Watercolors. The palette is beautiful and I chose the Buff Titanium, English Red Ochre and a touch of Pyrylene Maroon to color in the branches and monkey image from the kit. I then watercolored the leaves with Green Gold, Sap Green and Deep Sap Green. Then it was just a matter of die cutting the images and adding a few black mats to finish off the card.

I hope you've enjoyed sharing in my makes and a bit of my creative process today. I had so much fun taking a walk on the wild side with this release! I can't wait to get back in my studio and create some more with the host of other coordinating jungle themed stamps, frame cuts, and even a NEW COLOR of liquid watercolor in this month's add-on collection! {swoon}
If you're a kit subscriber, remember you can order any of this month's lovely add-ons to ship with your kit with no additional shipping fees if you place your order before Thursday. All of the add-ons are added to the Hero Arts catalog and restocked. The kit is only available while supplies last, so pre-order yours while you can!
