April Keeping Christmas Blog Hop

Hi friends! It's the 25th of the month and that means it's time to join my crafty friends once again as we share Christmas inspirations along our Keeping Christmas Blog Hop. If you're just popping in, the hop starts over at Anita's blog this month. If you came from Claire Broadwater's blog, then you're right on track! 😊

The purpose of this little hop is to share Christmas inspiration and get a jump start on our 2019 Christmas projects so we're not slammed come December! Sounds good to me! 👍

I was wanting to play with some of the new ink colors Clearsnap released in their Dyestress line, so I pulled out the new to me O Holy Night set from Sweet 'n Sassy, since it has a silhouette image I thought would be perfect for an emboss resist technique.

I started by embossing the silhouette on Smooth Bristol paper and then embossing with White Satin Pearl embossing powder.  I then die cut a circle similar in shape from a post it note, using the negative of the cut to mask off the surrounding area, then blended Capri ink in the center of the silhouette circle.  Next I used the die cut circle to mask off the area and then blended with Tahiti ink.  I love this color! I purposely didn't go all the way to the edges so I could take a baby wipe and move some of the color around. I love the fun striations this gives. I finished this panel off with some water spritzes, blotted with a paper towel, then embossed the sentiment.  In hindsight, I should have added the sentiment first or used white embossing powder, since the white satin pearl picked up a bit of the Tahiti ink behind it and isn't as easy to read as I would like.

I tied a seam binding bow around this panel, adding a teeny rose to the bow center and painting with Angel Wings Shimmerz for a bit of sparkle.  I added some foam to the back of this panel and finished off with an A2 card base.

Hope this fun little card has inspired you! For more eye candy and inspiration, head on over to the next stop on the hop... Kim Heggins!
