Mojo Monday 506

Hi friends! It's time for the last Mojo sketch of 2018... or the first for 2019 depending on when you see it! 😀 I've been loving peeking all your fabulous creations and am so glad I'm able to continue sharing sketches with y'all. For this go round, I picked a go-to sketch of mine that never fails. Hopefully it will be a tried and true one for you, too!

As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on January 13, 2019. I've included measurements on the sketch image below for those who like to have them. Here's my first sample with this sketch. I'll have another take on New Year's for my Season's Givings Blog Hop post, so be sure to check back.

I absolutely love this fun sentiment from the Big Cups set by The Cat's Pajamas. It totally fits me to a "t" each and every Monday! 😁 I decided to pair it with the recently released Stitched Hello CutUps

For the backgrounds, I was feeling a little splashy, so pulled out distress oxides in broken china and seedless preservers to do a little smooshing.  I stamped my coffee loving Poochie in jet black amalgam ink, then colored the cup with seedless preserves and stamped the is it Friday yet in the same color.  I was a bit worried I'd mess up my image if I tried to smoosh onto the top layer, so I pulled out the amazing Watercolor Basics set and stamped some splatters in Tumbled Glass distress oxide to tie it in with the rest of the card.

The horizontal border in the sketch is represented here using a flourish stamp from the new Big Word Basics set, which I stamped with my MISTI so I could be sure to get a good impression over the two layers of backgrounds.  I then decided to go around the edges with a black permanent pen, and as Murphy would have it, I made a booboo. Never fear, that's the perfect time to add an embellishment.  Here I cut a short little banner from black cardstock and covered up my booboo.  I finished off the card with some ebony Nuvo drops to accent the black cardstock pieces.

Here's the Mojo Monday 506 sketch and linkup...

Julee, this is an awesome sketch and your sample make is a knockout! I hope to make time, especially since you have given us until the 13th! Yay! Happy New Year to you and yours, and thanks again for reviving Mojo! I have every one of them saved since Sketch121 and also the cards I made over the years. Was looking at them recently, they were some of the best I've made and your sketches helped immensely! For card makers like me for whom it's a therapy, you are truly doing God's work. Hugs! xoxo
