Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Today's card is one I made using a sketch from the Sketches!{by Tamara} blog. It was a layout I don't think I would have arrived at on my own, so I decided to give it a go.
I started by stamping the line art poinsettia from Poinsettia Christmas two times on white cardstock, then coloring with Copic markers. One I squared off and the other I trimmed out. Next I cut four squares of Riding Hood Red and stamped the solid poinsettia on them with the same color of ink for a tone on tone effect.
For the background, I masked off part of the sentiment from the Poinsettia Christmas set and stamped just the Merry Christmas on white cardstock. Next I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder and then inked the edges of the stamped panel and the background panel with first Tea Dye and then Walnut Stain Ranger Distress Ink. Next I wrapped some gold cord around the bottom of the panel, mounted all my layers and added the trimmed out poinsettia where my cording was tied. I finished off with some gold stickles for the centers of the Poinsettias. I finished off with a generous misting of Pearl Glimmer Mist.
Okay, that's it for today. If you haven't already entered, be sure to scroll down for my Blog Candy Bonanza. I'm giving away 8 stamp sets and a few other goodies. I'm having a ball reading all of your favorite things of 2008 comments!
