More Stella Ruby!

I sat down to make a card focusing on punches and ended up making two because the images just weren't fitting how I wanted them to. The first card measures 4" square. I used one of the Rhonna Farrer flourishes for the antennae and the large and small oval punches (Stampin Up) to make the wings of the butterfly. I then traced over the antennae with my Jelly Roll Black Glaze pen and drew in a body. As you can tell, I love my black glaze pen, so I went dot crazy all over this card. I used some Icicle stickles to give the butterfly body a little sparkle and two halves of a circle punch, dottted with a gold gel pen for some visual interest. Finished off with some black brads and ribbon. All patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Stella Ruby line.

The second card was actually supposed to be the background for the butterfly in the first card, but it just didn't fit. On this card I used the EK Success Wrought Iron corner punch and both my mega and giga scalloped square punches. I often forget how pretty the Wrought Iron punch is. I stamped Measure of a Life on the Stella Ruby paper in black stazon and colored in the sunflower with prismacolors and mineral spirits. Added two lines of grosgrain ribbon across the card and some layered Forever Flowers with a black American Crafts brad. Final touches were made with my gold gel pen around the corners of the black Giga scalloped square.
