Serene Sunday

Today's the official release of the four new Verve Visual sets. They've arrived and are ready to jump into their boxes and head out into the world, starting tomorrow! Hooray! :)

Today's card is another one using the Serenity set. Sorry I've kind of been neglecting the other sets this release, but, in all honesty, I made these samples quite a while ago. My stamping time has been sorely lacking in the past few weeks, so I just haven't had time to play with my new stamps. :( Oh well, the design team did - and they've got some gorgeous stuff in the Verve Gallery, so be sure to check it out!

This card came together pretty quickly. First I stamped the solid flower in Soft Sky on Soft Sky and then stamped the sentiment, "The Joy of the Lord is my Strength" in Versafine Onyx Black. I used the ticket corner punch on the corners and matted on black card stock. The next layer is Blue Bayou, and I pierced holes around the edges and then matted on black card stock. The horizontal panel in the sketch is Soft Sky, embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder and then rubbed lightly with a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and matted with black card stock. The patterned paper is from the Foyer collection by Chatterbox. The two top tabs are word window punches, which I pierced holes in and then accented with some diamond shaped rhinestone stickers. I finished off the card with some black ribbon across the bottom, some glitter glaze on the flower, and a couple white primas. I wasn't so sure about the flowers, so I actually ended up removing the primas before I sent the card to my Mom.

The card is based on the Verve Visual Honored Guest Sketch Challenge. I drew some random winners for a couple cool prizes this morning, so if you've submitted a card for the Honored Guest Contest, be sure to check out the Verve Blog today!
